I believe they're 'grey market', so the origin could be anything from supplied by the software company for another country through to purchased with a stolen credit card. There may be some approved by the software company too, I've not checked in a while.
IMO, G2A tends to be a little more 'sketchy' than, for example, CD-Keys.
Microsoft keys will be likely reused, not legitimate (although they may activate).
But if all you care about is, 'does it work?' then you should be covered by G2A and/or your credit card. (edited)

I've used G2A multiple times without issues.
Just make sure you buy exactly what you are looking for.
They offer games on many different platforms and for many different regions.
They also offer games that are linked to a specific account. So you may by a GTA V code but it's linked to an account, so you can't add it to your own account on steam for example.
So if you want all your games in one account (which most people do) make sure it's a game code, not an account code.
Other than that, I've never had any problems with them.
