Cheapest iPad for Osmo Learning

Hi,
We have an ancient iPad Air 16gb (1st gen) which has served us very well so far, despite its age (used for YouTube kids and a couple of apps). We have a selection of Osmo games (where you place the iPad into a stand and it uses the camera to play in real-time). Problem is, the apps have been updated so they'll now only work for iPads with ios15+. I haven't got a scooby about iPads, the rest of our stuff is all android based. What's the cheapest way to make use of our Osmo stuff? Naturally considering used / refurbished tech. Seems like madness to be spending £400+ on something like this when it can surely be done for less?

What with Black Friday coming up I wondered if there were any good sources like Music Magpie I could use, but I'm not sure which model would be best suited? As long as I get another 12-18 months out of it then I'm happy! Heck, if someone has an older iPad they want to sell I'm also interested.

Here is the (very confusing to me) compatibility chart from Osmo:

Many thanks in advance!

i had the ipad air first generation and i could use it fine for all the apps, except it was a bit slow. i found that most of the apps stopped working and the way round it was to install an older version of the app.

Is this Osmo apps from Tangible Play? If so, it looks like the apps require iPadOS 15.0 as a minimum, this might make it simpler to see what iPad you need to get - support.apple.com/en-…dos

It’s best to go for a generation or two newer than the last listed device in order to have it last that long.

Oddly the parent app requires iPadOS 11.0 as a minimum
