Transaction on bank app

My brother has a Barclays debit card, and I can see that there is a debit transaction of £6 today, identified as PPOINT*_COSTCUTTER

Anyone know what this is? I am puzzled by PPOINT*

I've a ppoint_vks transaction (several infact) on my online banking. For me it's my local premier shop. I don't use the paypoint facility to pay bills. It's normally just milk or sweets for the nipper after I've picked him up from the childminder. (edited)

He is more likely to have bought sweets in the shop. Thanks. Good to hear that still appear on the app as PPOINT.

It's not just utility bills, many indy shops use paypoint as their card terminal merchant so any transactions paid via their card terminal will appear as PPOINT

Paypoint. Use for utility and other stuff.

This is what I thought. He doesn't have to pay anything that would need paypoint as he lives in a care home. Thanks. I will need to raise this with the bank if I can't get to the bottom of how this transaction has come about.

    Did you ask him first?

He isn't well at the moment. He suffers from mental ill health, so it isn't easy to get any answers out of him

As said above, he isn't well, so I am struggling to get anything sensible out of him at the moment. If it is paypoint, then you can't really buy anything with paypoint. Don't know if paypoint would appear on the app if you take money out of those cash machines they have at these corner shops?

    Only possible reason for this.
