As somebody else said, I've found the warmest tend to be from outdoor brands that are designed for walking/skiing like Roxy, Columbia & Tog24. I've worn ski jackets for years and would never go back to fashion brand coats for warmth! Tk Maxx or outlet shops are a good place to find them at reduced prices.

This is a bit out there but I recently got a second hand heavy teddy coat, 'furry type' with a hood and it is great. However, not waterproof! I am the same as you. I also need warmer gloves. I found a fleece scarf to be good (not a coat, but you know what I mean).

Yes, I find a scarf is very important as I find that if my neck gets cold, I will feel cold even if I have a warm coat on.

Also I always wear gloves when I am out. I wear leather gloves as I find they keep you very warm and you can still do things with the gloves on as they give good grip, unlike wooly gloves.

When it is snowing or icy, I find having a hat on will help a lot as that keeps your ears warm. (edited)
