Advice on phone delivery from Currys. Possible damage.

Bought a phone off Currys, and it was delivered in a padded envelope. The box looks a bit bashed up, but seals are intact. I do not want to break the seals, as it is a gift. Not sure how to proceed in case there is damage to the phone itself.

I have so far took recordings of the box, and packaging while showing intact seals, and plan to record the person opening it just in case. Will that be enough should there be damage?

Hopefully I'm just over worrying, but rather alarming getting a phone stuff in a padded envelope, to be honest.

I've had several iPhones delivered in the last few years by DPD in their Apple box and a plastic mailing bag. They've been absolutely fine everytime.

    That's reassuring. Thank you.

I'm dropping my phone all the time when working on cars, touch wood it hasn't broke yet! so one in a box I'd think would be fine.
If yours was broke just return it, simple
But hope they enjoy their new phone (edited)
