Best EV charging tariff?

Hi all was just looking between tariffs for charging my EV at home.

Have narrowed it down between British gas, octopus and OVO, would love to hear some first hand experience on the topic.

Many thanks in advance

I would suggest joining Facebook groups like Octopus Smart Tarrif Chat. And asking there, I’m on Agile as haven’t got an EV just yet (only solar and battery) but there are some good knowledgable people with EV’s there that will help you.

Intelligent octopus go if you have a compatible charger or car. 6hrs at 7.5p plus more hours cheap if you let your car run down low and then set it to get to 100% charge at next charge window. App and customer service is great.

Would definitely recommend octopus intelligent go. I moved to them from BG and the prices are alot cheaper for EV. Also if the car needs a longer charge as FiestaSteve has said you will get the 7.5p rate for longer. Some days my whole day rate is 7.5p (edited)

I'm with Eon Drive. When I signed up back in October 23, it was the only off peak tariff that was from 12am to 7am (7 hr window) which allows me at least 50kWh of charge. Rates are reasonable 9.4p/kWh off peak and 32p/kWh peak. Before that I was with BG EV, 5 hr window and the billing took 5 months to sort out.

Octopus centainly offer better tarifs but for some reason I can't join them. (edited)

Only downside with octopus EV tariff is the day time rate is quite high compared to their normal rate. (edited)

+1 Intelligent Octopus which is 7.5p from 23:30 to 05:30 and 30.52p at other times.

The good thing with intelligent octopus is the 7.5p is for all the house use not just charging your car (like some EV tariffs), so if you can schedule washing machines and dishwashers etc for the cheap period you only pay 7.5p.

Also you sometimes get smart charging outside these times so it is possible to get 12 hours @ 7.5p if the car needs charging a lot.

It is also possible to charge more than one car if Intelligent Octopus is linked to a compatible charger instead of the car.

Another one using Octopus Go. I get 7.5p between 23.30 and 05.30. Like others have said they extend this to always make sure your car gets charged. I sometimes schedule my washing machine and dishwasher during these hours too (edited)

Octopus all day long, outstanding provider.
I emailed then on Thursday, they replied 2 minutes later and completed my request, customer service like that is rare.

Really appreciate all of the replies looks like I'll be contacting octopus this afternoon. Who do you all use as a gas only supplier out of interest because I'm currently on dual fuel which will be changing as I believe octopus only supply electricity?

On second thoughts I've just read that they do dual fuel so I'll ask them on the phone
