Evri (personal experiences)

So far three estimated delivery slots (two on the same day)
First attempt failed as apparently no one home (apart from grown up daughter) plus cctc coverage backup and image provided by Evri as proof was a row of houses at least a hundred metres away
Second attempt today cancelled with no reason given (day off work btw)
I'm hopeful delivery will be made on their third attempt
just needed to vent

Evri are historically shockingly bad and clearly are not getting any better (edited)

It doesn't go wrong by accident.

I had two parcels scheduled for delivery today by evri. One was between 08.00 & 20.00 and the other 12.00 & 14.00. They turned up together at 12.39. Not often anyone has anything nice to say about them, but today they delivered.

To be fair, we have a great Evri delivery man. Aside from a few parcels that went missing when we first moved in (over 3 years ago now), every delivery has been pretty much perfect and we've probably had 100+ of them.

Unfortunately, as you've probably figured out from this site, it seems that there's a lot of negative view on Evri

You would have thought after changing their name from Hermes to escape the awful reputation they deserved that they would make a concerted effort to improve. But no.

I guess the next name change is already in a black bag amongst others in the marketing department.

The bloke who delivers on our street is as good as gold. No complaints but a quick search on Evri on twitter does show some absolute shockers.

Depends on ur courier and if u have any problems or not but in my experience she has been first rate….some couriers care some don’t, I’m wondering if Evri use a lot of agency drivers.

I agree, it all depends on which courier you have. Our evri driver is a young lad who always turns up when he is meant to.

My parcel was Left on the doorstep did not knock. If I did not have a camera outside I would not have known it was there

Amazon the worst for that. Had electrical appliances dumped on the doorstep in only manufacturers packaging. Nice invite to any would be thieves

I found them to be terrible . However they now have a regular driver who now knows my address well and has been great ever since

Yep, there are a load of these stories. Fortunately mine have always been great, my postman has always acted very weirdly and puts us off though so I guess we've had a (slightly) worse experience with Royal Mail than any other.

RM are the worst, quickly followed by the uncontactable DPD

our local courier is amazing, whenever we are not there he always leaves parcels in same box that we requested, not a bother

That can be good and bad, people can scam parcels that way saying 'it was nicked' when left on the doorstep I've had a few try that on eBay.

Evri and Hermes... well for me they used to be terrible years ago, but it all depends on who's running the depot, and then who's actually delivering the parcel.
The last couple of years though they have been fantastic, the same can't be said for Amazon's delivery people, though it does vary, one of the guys literally drops it on the doorstep or behind a bin and drives off - he does ring the bell, however he has no idea if someones in or not and doesn't leave a card. Our neighbour had a parcel go missing a couple of weeks ago from them, they left a card saying they'd left it at a neighbour (which is normally us) but we didn't have it......the look in our neighbours eyes kinda made me think they thought we'd stole it (whatever it was).... so since then I've put a message on the door saying we don't accept neighbours parcels to avoid anything like that in the future.

I've not had any problems with Evri at all, maybe I'm just lucky who delivers my parcels.

If I did, I would far rather Evri just kept me updated, if it's going to be late, so be it, but if I know that saves the frustration, no need for the lies some people are getting.

It all depends on the delivery person I think - we seem to have a regular one now and the issues (and there were loads) have largely vanished.

They are very bad, I wish retailers would stop using them. I think people who are first on their list have no problem to receive orders. Everytime my order ends up being the last delivery and always gets we tried to deliver on tracking which is nonsense. But 3rd time they don't fail.

Same here, it depends on your depot (maybe) and delivery driver (maybe) - I know the one in Glasgow pretty well and we're quite friendly.

Had more problems with Amazon Logistics delivering to the right flat number, wrong building a few times! And they deliver later than Evri, up to about 9.30pm. So maybe he / she is knackered by then (happened in the evening).

Recently my Charlotte tilbury package was given to Evri. They tried just one day. I was not at home. Delivery failed . And the package never Reattempted to deliver again. It was lost ! My personal experience

It can depend on who your driver is. Some are decent, but others couldn't give a hoot and would rather deliver it anywhere. I know one guy who had problems with Evri losing his parcels as it always had a random picture, he then put the picture on a local Facebook group asking for help finding it and he not only manages to find them again but also gets his money back too as he raises a complaint that he has not received it. All you can do is stop using companies that use that courier. It might eventually send a message to the businesses that use Evri to change to a better courier.

Very lucky here. We have a great Evri person who is super reliable. She lives locally and if for any reason she’s not delivering that day (e.g. flooding) she puts a message on our community FB page to let everyone know. Evri is the most reliable for us along with DPD. Yodel on the other hand 😩 (edited)

Been good for me so far and have been using them over 5-6years now. Collected/delivered without any issues

My courier with Evri does deliver by throwing them in the garden. I try not to buy from anywhere that uses them but sometimes it's not obvious.

I recently had something I'd purchased from Etsy just sat at the Evri depot, the seller did nothing, but I had to complain to Evri and eventually they delivered, after about 3 weeks.

I'm amazed that a company that is so bad manages to still be going, cheap terrible service I suppose. I guess retailers are not bothered and prefer to lose customers.

Update on my delivery finally turned up this afternoon box (which was partially opened) left on doorstep with a quick knock of the door and gone
Yet to check the contents but seem intact

You have your priorities out of order.

Box turned up, partially opened, left on doorstep. post on HUKDs, open box later???

    It should be

Evri in my area are fantastic and beat all other couriers. It's obviously a mine field though

Never had a problem with them myself, ordered some car parts over xmas/new year from autodoc in germany and got them within 3 working days.

i think it depends on whos the driver at times. i had this issue religously with DPD. bastid driver would ALWAYS make a big deal of delivering a parcel which was his job.
howeve, the evri in my area are okay
