Strange choice considering they soon after discontinued the large ones
From memory the feature is a fairly recent one added around the time the minis were released (before that you couldn’t set big homepods as default either) But for whatever reason Apple chose to reserve it to the big ones! Fingers crossed they change their mind later down the line….
Ok thanks for setting me straight. Think I would have still bought them anyway to be honest as it doesn’t sound too bad but surely they will add that feature in the near future. Does make you think though why they didn’t choose to add the functionality at the same time as the og HomePods. :S
It is annoying especially as the default audio option with the big ones works perfectly. It is my only qualm with my setup in the bedroom - but then two big homepods would look ridiculous. It takes less than 10seconds. You hold down the Airplay key, and then select the Minis from the list that appears, then exit out of the Airplay menu. Requires 6 or so remote presses for me (I have multiple homepods so have to scroll through the list of speakers too) Edited; to say that it will remember the setting during the course of each use but forget it when the Apple TV goes into standby. So you may only have to set it once a day depending on your usage. Also if in the meantime you use the minis for something else (airplay from iPhone for instance) it upsets the connection to the ATV and you have to re-select them - this does not happen with the big homepods which manage multiple connections It was clearly an intentional decision to reserve the feature only to big homepods - other airplay2 devices cannot be set as default either.
I can’t think why it wouldn’t be possible I mean that must be the most minor software update - surely would have been easier to implement than to right documentation to say it’s not supported (lol)
It's not what I would do personally, or encourage, but we don't want to police what people post provided it is within the rules. The community can guide deal posters with votes and comments about how they may want to continue or change their approach.

Because sometimes it’d be nice when someone posts a deal that they recommend. You know, I found this, I think it’s a great product and it’s at a really good price at this retailer here... What we have from this person and a few others on here is blindly posting link after link of things they find. It’s basically the equivalent of Ron Burgundy literally saying everything that is written in front of him. This doesn’t demonstrate any discernment and devalues from people’s value from the site as a whole.
Damn code invalid now since start of april anybody know of any other code?
Absolute worst delivery company. Lost an expensive eBay parcel of mine and waaay too big to give a toss at their 'computer says no' random global call centers. Impossible to communicate with. I then read a Which? report on couriers (free one!), UPS worst in every field. DPD came out on top so been using them since with no issues so far.......
Fair point. I personally have no issues with understanding them as we share the same culture.
why not give em a call and report back your findings , maybe is was my accent that was the problem and caused them to do Nothing they were asked !!!
I hope you don't have your house insured for £50,000 if it's worth £500,000.
Did you insure it for full value?
WORST COMPANY!!! STOLE OR LOST MY PARCEL WORTH 200£!HERMES IS THE WORST COURIER COMPANY! Do not believe their fake good reviews, as they probably bought them. I have posted my parcel (200£ worth mobile phone I sold on ebay) with them 2 weeks ago and it still has not been delivered. After a painful process waiting in a queue and talking to their useless assistant Holly - I finally got connected to a real (although not helpful) customer support. My claim has been registered. 4 days after - when I called hermes (and yes, you have to chase for your lost or undelivered parcel yourself, as Hermes has no interest in informing you regarding your lost/stolen parcel). As I feared - Hermes has lost my parcel. My parcel has been collected from a Hermes drop-off point and reached their sorting depot. It has never moved from there - and has not been found since. Very unhelpful and unsympathetic customer support. The best I can hope now is 20£ refund. I am surprised how nobody sued this scam company for negligence. I will NEVER be using this company again and suggest you do the same (unless you want your parcels being lost/stolen by this company). I would give them 0 stars if I could. Disgusting company!!!
+1 to this. Parcels consistently take 2 days after drop off and full tracking is invaluable selling online. If Royal Mail actually always scanned parcels at the door I might be able to rely on them, the current system is too hit and miss. I think Hermes service is much better than before thanks to the GPS and delivery photos. Particularly the latter I think as it has discouraged lobbing over gates. Issues are very localised though, people have 1 bad experience and vow that they are terrible and to never use them. But your local courier can easily change and be a completely different level of service. Even recently I had an eBay buyer message not to use Hermes because "something went missing once" (I offer a Royal Mail upgrade at the actual extra cost for those who really care, funny that in 100s of items only 1 person has ever upgraded!) - well no I'm not going to spend more from my own pocket... But it got there in 2 days and they were really happy in the end, and I always pack things up so that they'd survive being thrown down my stairs. And besides all that, I think this offer is excellent to encourage fewer non-essential journeys. But even using a ParcelShop, in and out in 30 seconds, or use a locker vs. often 10+ minutes in a Post Office queue to get a sarcastic comment because you printed a label online instead of paying over the counter...
Packlink are THE biggest thieves and con men that have ever been - avoid at ALL costs.

There may be some poor delivery people and there may be some problems with parcels not being packaged well enough I've never had a problem myself with Hermes sending or receiving https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.myhermes.co.uk
Normally it is the parcels that arrive with 10% off - nice change that it is the price.
Used a lot lately, happy with the service, especially at Christmas, everything took 2 days unlike royal mail. Had one item to missing after customer refused by accident, took about a month and a half to come back to me but eBay had already sided case with me. For all the hate, it's a cheap service that works with full tracking. Hermes means I can sell those £20 items on eBay and actually compete. Plenty of other carriers available for expensive items. Keep in mind for certain sizes UPS may be cheaper with the 10% off promo they're running at the moment
Or pay slightly more for a reliable delivery service! Hermes = Cowboys

I changed the battery when i had something like a few mins left to shut things down manually before the battery ran out. It does smooth out spikes and brown outs meaning less stress for your equipment. If you only had the one cut maybe it is not required for you at the moment. I have more power cuts say once or twice a year plus there is the protection of the equipment.
What happened after that? Did it completely die? I am on the fence with buying a UPS. I have had maybe 1 power cut in the past 3 years so not wanting to keep it powered 24-7 only for it to be useless when it is maybe called into use sometime in the future...
yeah i got 5 or 6 years for somw usable battery life. This was on apc 900 tho
Unfortunately the batteries aren’t replaceable on this model it seems, but they quote 2 years on their website for how long they last. In my experience though you’d get more than 2 years.
27mins that’s amazing! I would think an average of 10mins would be great. Do you know if the batteries inside (or indeed the whole unit) needs to be replaced every few years?
True. That way, you can focus your attention on every parcel while it is been scanned by the shop keeper. Still need to check details on the receipts carefully. Because 1. The shop keeper can print receipts from previous scans. 2. The shop keeper could scan the previous parcels without you notice if they are good with their hands.
Just a suggestion, get 1 reciept per parcel each with different tracking numbers etc if u have more than one parcel.
The scam I experienced today at Collect+ is more damage to customers. The customers will not get any compensations from Collect+ if they fell for this scam. If I did not notice the scam, all record would show that I only posted 4 parcels, I never dropped off the other parcel at the shop. Not sure if the shop has CCTV, whether the CCTV pointed at the counter and recorded how many parcels I gave, and how long they keep the CCTV record. If I did not notice, it will be my words against his. And I would lost the parcel, and no compensation from collect+. They are so bad. Do not trust them blindly! Check your receipt agrees to the parcels you gave the shop keeper is my advice.
I had several parcels scanned at collect+ store a few years ago. I don't think he did what you said, but one parcel was a DVD recorder. Shop keeper asked me why parcel is so big/heavy, I stupidly said what it was, he then asked must be expensive dvd recorder, I said it is. I asked him was it to big etc to send but he just laughed it off! Of course It went missing! Collect+ investigated but just got my full compensation £100+ after waiting about two months.
I would like to draw your attention to a scam I just experienced in a collect+ shop. I already reported to Collect+ and ask them to investigate. I gave the shopper 5 parcels to scan. He gave me a receipt of 5 trackings. Only after detailed checking, there are duplicates in the trackings. He scanned some parcels more than once, and he did not scan some parcels. He will steal those parcels he did not scan. He made sure that the multiple scans of the same parcel appear in different places, not next to each other. So you cannot easily spot. I know a lot people would just trust the shop keepers to do the right thing, and probably not even bother to check the receipt. Some even not ask for a receipt at all. In this case, not only you have to check the number of tracking numbers are the same number as the number of parcels, but also you have to check that all tracking numbers on the receipt is unique. Otherwise, you will fall for this scam. (Collect+ postage receipt printing duplicate scans of tracking number which already scanned as new parcels make this scam more easily performed.) The scam is well thought and performed. The shop keeper was quite good at doing it and did not raise my suspection until I noticed the same tracking on the receipt. He must had done it before and had plenty of practise. He made sure that 1. The number of tracking printed on the receipt is the same number as the parcels you handed to him. 2. The duplicate scans of the same parcle are not done next to each other. So you do not spot easily. Collect+ needs to stop using those dishonest shops/people.

Excellent points. Sadly I've learnt the hard way this week and fried my NAS with a power surge in my block of flats, just hoping I can recover the storage! I'll be buying one of these when I get a replacement NAS
The 700VA/420W model I ordered yesterday is now up and running. The QNAP TS-653D shows a fair amount of "protection time"! I think I can safely say it'll have time to shutdown in the event of a power loss :)
OK you're right....there's always ways around these things, you clearly know more about UPS than I do.
Better, then, that they market it as a 250W UPS, when it's going to get a few minutes runtime, even with a battery that's a couple of years old. For me, I want time to close documents, etc that won't be automatically saved if the machine is shut down - gracefully or not. I need the screen running as well as the computer to do that. So it isn't just the PC that needs to be powered. A pair of Trojan 6v 250AH gives 3 kWHr for <£500 delivered. That's hardly "thousands", even allowing for a couple of hundred quid for a UPS which DOES have terminals for external battery power. "Sinus Pro" are good deals - well, used to be before Brexit. True sine wave double conversion.
Another hilarious moment at the same site as the previously mentioned "kettle" incident: Nobody had time to test the UPS, a digger went through a power cable in the street outside, and the UPS dutifully cut in .... Except it hadn't been "used in anger" for years, several of the lead acid batteries had developed shorts, so when the the load went on, they immediately boiled what remained of the electrolyte, the resultant mixture of steam, hydrogen gas and sulphuric acid ruptured the battery casing and made a BANG! which was considerably louder than the short circuit outside, not only that, but blew a fist sized sooty hole through a partition wall! Turns out the "monthly test" never actually switched over on "full load", they always powered the enterprise servers down first (to be fair, if it hadn't worked, it would be 36 hours of recovery time, the machines in question absolutely hated losing power and any "long weekends" were usually earmarked for system maintenance tasks) - even under normal circumstances, a power off and on again would take no less than 30 minutes! Lesson learned : it isn't a test until you do a full dress rehearsal!
No one cares, they’re the worst parcel firm on this planet
This offer has now been extended until 14 March 2021
Shocking service, avoid
Good luck to any brave enough to use this crew. I’ve had far too many issues with them not delivering to me over the years.
I'm still waiting for a Christmas present that was out for delivery on the 15th December, with the distribution centre only being about 15 minutes from where I live. Last update it was taken back to the centre for an unknown reason, with no movement since (mad)
Got an Xbox off ebay... Posted Fri 8th next day. Packlink hermes. Got picked up and tracking hasn't updated since... Have to wait until the 20th until eBay step in and I get my money back. Always have problems with Hermes. They're awful.
Hermes lol. Last two items I sent back to Amazon with them never arrived after dropping them off at a local store and the storekeeper said Hermes 'lost' everything from that day, tracking just said I dropped them off and that was the last I heard of it. Many other stories like this but they are categorically always the worst for customer service and experience. Use someone decent like DPD, UPS or Fedex for courier services or Royal Mail for smaller items (not Parcelforce) - we use RM exclusively at work and they are extremely good all round, apart from the odd recent delay.
Thanks for this
Whats the cheapest service for large letter sizes like magazines that has some kind of tracking / delivery? Sending magazines by recorded delivery has become incredibly expensive and im looking for an alternative.

Apple jobs are ones I'll never reject - so as soon as I'm buzzed about a new job, I accept and go to the collection. I'll sometimes arrive within 15 minutes of the order being placed. It's then around 10-15 minutes to deliver. It'd be very unusual for a delivery to go beyond the 2 hour window! (But sometimes, if the weather is bad or there are Just Eat rewards, then it may be difficult to find drivers to complete the job quickly)
Shame I got knocked back twice for finance
humans are a little impatient these days lol
