Website creation

Hi, just a quick question, does anyone know of any good website builders that you do yourself and are not ridiculously expensive?
Thank you

I used wordpress.com. Works fine for a DIY website that is free.
Google sites are another free one.
Most use the site builder supplied by domain provider so it depends what you want (edited)

Single website page with links to sites like Etsy or eBay. Place all your information on and contact information.
Google sites may do that for free.

Or GoDaddy buy domain then create a ecommerce website using the store building software.

Not something a mess with now but you can start looking at those options.

It's the cost. Maybe start with something free and see how you go.

I am surprised no one has mentioned Wix.....

    wix.com/

Ignore the talk of it being free, if you want to sell from the site then you need the premium plan labeled "core" or higher. Core is £14 per month and gives basic e-commerce.

    Thanks very much.
I will be joining a bigger site thats primarily for artists to sell their work worldwide, so it's just a website I need to display my work on, also so I can attach it to a couple of social media sites Im on already. I also want to look at google advertising however again I need a website. I dont want it for Etsy, or eBay which I dont use.
Would wix still be the right one ?

    Thank you very much. 👌

I used a non e-commerce one from create.net for a few years and my artist other half still has hers. The pricing structure has changed so I don't know how competitive they are. The support is good and it's fairly simple for someone with no experience to make a professional looking website.

    Thank you.
It's just purely a website I need to add my painting on, not for selling just to display, as I will be joining a bigger site purely for sales, not Etsy or eBay. I just need to build a website and add my work on it, so it can be then attached to a couple of social media sites, plus I also want to look at Google advertising.

Kill a few birds with one £25 stone:
website builder plus lifetime fully-featured web&email hosting for £25,
where "lifetime" is assumed to be the lifetime of the UK limited company provider or the end of the world, whichever occurs first.
So the only other items required would be domain registration plus your imagination.
    First year domain reg is often discounted by many providers - say from £1;
subsequent years £5+ depending on the extension (suffix).

The website builder has dedicated templates for "Art & Creative" sites and a demo can be assessed at
    pro-wizard.com/demo/

Lifetime hosting price varies wildly from £20 - £300 but current £25 is still silly cheap for the features & duration:
    ebay.co.uk/itm…115

    Sidenote:
Porkbun (and other domain registrars) will shift you a dedicated .art domain for 1styear/subsequentyrs at equiv circa £3/£10. Example:
    porkbun.com/che…art
or similar .gallery at equiv £14
    porkbun.com/che…ery

Thank you ever so much such great information.
Simply looking at making a website to show my paintings on, as I will be selling through a much bigger worldwide site, however, I have to have my own website so its linked, but not for sales, purely just to show my work. I also want it so I can look at Google for future advertisements and I cannot do that without my own website again. Im not using Etsy or eBay, it's just a site I need (something that Dummys can use would be great) and then I can go forward with the much larger companies that sell art worldwide, plus link it to 2 social media sites I already have. So would the above suit this?
    Thanks again.
