Transferring gallery photos to new android phone.

Just set up a new android phone and sent photos across. On the old phone the photos were in gallery and in albums. When I sent them across most of them are just in 1 album. Anybody know a way of sending them across including keeping them in the albums?
Thanks.

Can't you organise them/upload them to Google photos? No need to be on your phone at all and accessible everywhere.

You can change the settings from google photo (PC desktop) version that has additional options. Change from full resolution to space saver and this will allow you to upload unlimited photo in lesser quality at google.

Further compress the existing photos so that you can free up space from 15 GB to less

Since smart switch didn't work for you, you can try the below methods.

    Manual Transfer:
    • If you're transferring photos manually via a USB cable or through a computer, make sure you copy the entire folder structure that contains the albums.
    • On your old phone, navigate to the location where photos are stored, and copy the entire folder (which includes subfolders for each album).

Apps from PlayStore: Something like PhotoSync?

When I did my transfer, I used Smart Switch, which is samsungs data transferring app.

It put all my photos into the same albums as I already had.

    play.google.com/sto…ver

Tried Smart Switch but it couldn't find the other device and vice versa, just tried again and exactly the same although they are on the same network.
    Thanks anyway for the reply.

How about upgrading to Google's cheapest paid plan that has enough storage for your needs, transfer your photos and then canceling the subscription so you revert back to the free service.

or buy an original google pixel phone and transfer all your pictures to that.

free (except the price of the phone of course), unlimited, full quality, google storage for life.

When transferring their date is changed to now.

I use play.google.com/sto…ver to archive my directories onto a flash drive. Move to the new phone and extract.
