They've already received the money into their account so withdraw!!
they wont claim it back if its comfirmed.
They can claim it back because the terms mention what happens if an item is returned.
just curious what date did you purchase and return, there is always a big gap for cashback payout.

I bought stuff on Black Friday weekend and returned it the following week so wasn’t expecting to receive anything

Unusual you would get the cashback until the returns policy with the retailer has passed as this is why cashback takes so long generally. So it seems like the retailer has probably gone against their own returns policy. If you've been paid the cb anyway I would withdraw it. I'd be staggered if any cb supplier pay before they get paid.
