    Whichever is cheaper.

Digital, mainly because I haven't bought in a long time and mainly rely on Gamepass

Usually physical for the dust collection will buy cheap digital when on offer only real exception being Baldur's Gate 3 (daughter has rinsed that well and truly so money well spent) all Playstation btw

Mostly digital now, especially if it’s a game I know I’m not going to want to move on, games like sports titles, gta etc.

Since PS+ Extra I haven't bought a game since Elden Ring, I try to hold off as long as possible until something I want goes on that service, if I was to buy a game I would likely buy digital now but it needs to be pretty cheap.

It's getting harder to sell used games now as GAME have just announced they're stopping that which leaves CEX.

Digital now I got the xbox series s..... But it's all good as I often travel to Argentina, Brazil, USA, (cough, cough)

I'm mostly physical for the Switch, but all digital on Xbox and PC.
This generally is just the cheapest for the games I want.

I did buy physical for the switch as well before getting a PS5, but some of them, you're buying a case and a code nowadays, just personal preference.

Yeah you do have online platforms like Steam where they tend to have sales and cdkeys etc

Yeah I tend to wait and watch some of the physical games to come down in price

I'm still working off 'whatever is cheapest'. Although as my preference is usually for indie games they often only show up as digital.

Yeah most indies games tend to come up as digital from the store, rarely come to physical, but they're a good play through too

I buy both - but depends on what I want, and how much it is - I'm also restricted as the only place in town still selling games is Asda, and if I go to Dundee (nearest city) there's nowhere in the city centre selling new copies. (Asda, Currys, and soon Argos are all going to be out of the city centre).

I do get the occasional title from Amazon for physical as well. (edited)

was pro physical and against digital. Then got back into gaming and bought an xbox and now im all digital. dont own a single physical game. no swapping discs or anything and unlike when i was younger where i had to swap/sell to buy another game, no applicable now. so i buy the games i know are well rated and i like.

Fair enough, personal preference. I tend to buy them and just keep them for a mini collection I am building, and let friends borrow it here and there.

I won't pay more than a few quid for a digital game, even if I want it.

I would've pre-ordered Alan Wake 2 on disc if it was available. Now I will either wait until it's under £10 or the inevitable physical release in 7 or 8 months (which I'd place money on happening). I won't pre-order the physical, I'm going to wait even longer as I'm not supporting the practice.

I am a bit more sensible these days, particularly with super niche games. I'm not going to spend £50 on a physical copy of Clockwork Aquario when it's like a £3 digital game. A few years ago I probably would've done.

The one and only game that I have pre-ordered is Tekken 8, only because I never pre ordered a game before and because I do like Tekken.
Any non mainstream games, I would wait till it's before £20 or a PS4 game and £30 for a PS5 game.
I prefer just the touch of the physical copy of a game.

Mainly digital, just cos I buy a game to keep and dive in now and again, not buy/complete/sell on etc.

    Make sense,
I buy and play and then collect

Physical all the way, everything going digital is the wrong way to go IMO. The day they stop releasing physical copies is the day I stop buying.

I agree with you, and I probably the same way

Physical, but only because I want to sell the game on to buy more games, but with the help of "regional pricing", I am buying a lot more Digital games.

And even then... I am rarely buying ANYTHING thanks to my Game Pass subscription. Incredible value. Don't need to "own" anything, I am not one to play old games.

No-one has mentioned the fact that sometime titles get removed from the platform if digital? So you pay for it, and can't always get to play it x years later.

Yep that is another thing, digital content can be removed or not renewed for the licence. Similar to what Netflix does with their tv shows and movies or may never com back.

Too much plastic in the world so I try to be as digital as possible to help protect the 🌎 Most of my physical purchases are of games no longer available on digital stores.

Got a good gaming PC, lots of Steam games, PS5, Xbox series X - but what if digital services were one day turned off for my fav games (happened to me recently) or the games must have an internet connection to work - I think having a physical (disc based), no internet needed gaming set up is a must really especially for games you really enjoy

I’ve been getting my games from Vinted, got some great bargains. Also sold them when done on there. Otherwise I use Game Collection, I rarely buy digital games as I like to be able to get some money back towards my next games.

any recommendations? I'm thinking of picking up some older consoles for classics

I like the idea of physical, but as my boys both have an xbox, they can share any game we buy digital, so I only need to buy one game rather than two.
