Which samsung phone has the best battery life?

I have a Samsung S21 and the battery life is horrendous. I have tried everything for better battery life with no luck. Looking for a new Samsung phone with a good battery life. Thanks in advance

If you haven't had the battery replaced then you haven't tried everything

I would also suggest a factory reset. It helps clear the junk and then you can be more selective on what to install and what to keep running in the background full time. Disabling real time updates on everything except emails improved battery life on my phone - I really don't need news, social media, etc on a real time basis. Disabling 5G also helped because the phone isn't then searching constantly for a 5G signal which is pretty bad in my neighbourhood.

Basically, you're looking at the Ultra and Plus models if you want a flagship. A54 and a few others if you're happy to settle for mid range.

Install Accubattery from Play Store a see what's using it.

Knowing Samsung though (like Apple), they will have baked some sort of battery ageing process into their ROM so that it goes flat quicker and you go out and blindly buy the next flagship. They have shareholders (like me - I only use Samsung TV and washing machine though) to answer to after all.

Of course if you're fast charging your battery to 100% every day it's gonna kill it quicker too.

My (non-Samsung) 1 year old phone 92% battery health:

Your phone also needs to be going into "Deep Sleep" when screen is off.

Basically, do your research and get a better phone.

I have the s23 ultra and it's a fantastic battery life. I usually don't go below 60% and I am awake from around 6am and go to bed around 10pm. That's with a fair bit of usage too.

There’s a few things you’ll need to look at, in order to get a better sense of whether it’s your usage, the phone or the battery itself.

Firstly, take a look at the battery and charging section inside the settings app on your phone. This should help identify any rogue apps which are causing phantom drain. If you don’t need them, delete them.

Secondly, check how much battery your screen uses. Do you have the phone at max brightness all the time, for example? Do you have it at the highest refresh rate and resolution?

Thirdly, if you’ve had the phone from new, it’s probably time to change the battery. If you’ve had the S21 for more than 2 years (it was released more than 3 years ago now) then it’s almost certainly had 600+ battery cycles.

The S21 never had great battery life on release. Most battery test sites had it at around 6 hours’ screen on time. So if you’ve had the phone a while, your usage is still the same as when it was new and the battery has degraded by 20% you’re probably only going to see 4.5hrs screen on time from it in 2024.

If you want a newer phone with much better battery try the S23 or the A54 both from Samsung which should yield over 9 hours’ screen on time with sensible settings.

My S23 Ultra has pretty incredible battery life, and I assume the S24 Ultra will be similar.

I would check reviews for the UK spec S24 and S24+ as they have Exynos rather than Snapdragon CPUs which are renowned for poor battery life. The Ultra has the Snapdragon CPU globally.

The Exynos chip is definitely not as efficient as the Snapdragon chip, but it may well be far better than what you have in the S21. I would check reddit to see if there are any real world reviews of the Exynos phones after a couple of weeks of use (no point in reviewing a battery on the first few days usage)

The battery life on this s21 was ok first few weeks then went downhill from there. Had it for over a year now and fed up of charging it all the time

Well battery health declines with age so any new samsung phone will have good battery life, also cold weather effects battery (edited)

Age and usage determine the life. So what works for me may not work for you - I don't play games or stream videos, so getting 24 hours isn't too difficult.

My S23 Ultra's battery is pretty poor. I have been using it a fair bit, but I charged it to 100% at 8pm last night, and it was down to 67% by 11pm. It is almost a year old now, but my p30 Pro had better. Maybe I need to tinkle with the settings though.
