I noticed these went hot at nearly £140 using the recent eBay code, so a decent saving on that. I also feel Game are stricter on condition and testing than MusicMagpie.

    Received mine today. For those interested though not a guarantee for others it was on version 11.02 and model 7016B.
    Console seems in good condition, clean, only some minor scuffs. Packaged well and with power, hdmi and micro USB for the controller.
    Controller is going to need some decontamination before I use it in earnest though 🤢
    Otherwise all good so far. Some annoying little warranty void if removed stickers though as wss going to double check thermal paste. Might wait and see now if it tries to take off. (edited)

    Played an hour or so and damn it was loud. Stripped it down and whilst not terrible clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while. One screw was stripped so clearly not the first in there but the thermal paste was dry and barely covering the processor. Cleaned, the perfect amount of thermal paste applied and it’s like night and day. Took about 40 mins.

    The thermal past used is only one problem.

    I stripped my one down and did the thermal ppastetwice in 2 years. The thing sounded like a fighter jet. I also had the better considered fan in the machine.

    The design results in dust clogging the heat sink, which results in poor cooling and loud fans (I do have a dog and a cat). The only way to clean the clog is a full strip down.

    I sold mine and got a PS5.

    For this price it is well worth it for a punt.

    The PS4 pro is a nice machine that's not that far behind PS5 for overall real world gaming experiance.

    Got mine today and it's on 11.02, same as Music Magpie. There was also a checklist in there checking all the bits at the repair centre before it's sent out, including Wifi check and latest updates so I guess they update them all to latest software before they're sent out? Shame, but this one going back too

    Just ordered this instead of the slim. It doesn't mention a controller in the text though there is one pictured, whereas in the slim listing it mentions in the text. Will see when I pick up I suppose...

    These console are good, but can get noisy on some games. They use quite a bit of electricity too.

    You won't get an old firmware device. Part of the test is to update the console... See point 5, unless I'm mis interpreting it.

    Think you might be right, mine came with update 11.02 which is the last update available as far as I can see?

    Nice but be warned it sounds like a jet engine unless you replace the thermal paste. Easy enough job thankfully

    It certainly does. I bought a used one locally that was insanely loud and blasting hairdryer grade heat. Thanks to a YouTube tutorial I dismantled it - it was absolutely clogged with dust. The resulting heat had evaporated the factory paste and fried the thermal pads. All good now - it’s a good console.

    It's part of their check that they update to latest firmware. Mine arrived today, the Evri driver decided just to leave on front door and go off. Its in pretty good nick, slight scuff on one corner,seems silent. Only play occasionally so will do for me as plenty of cheap games available. Game did send a faulty HDMI cable, spent ages thinking the unit was faullty. Someone mentioned you can see how much play time it has had, how do u do that? (edited)

    Very easy if it's on the right firmware. It's just a Web page exploit. Tons of tutorials. I'm gutted that my ps4 has the newer firmware. Apparently a mod is on its way..

    Picked up a 7116B version (the first revision), seems to be in decent condition, came with controller, power, HDMI and charging cables and so far seems fairly quiet in use (was prepared for a strip down and repaste/pad if needed). Firmware was the latest version - not an issue to me. (Added firmware info and fixed typo) (edited)

    They are preowned... so whenever the user last updated! I highly doubt you will find a 9.00 one unless you are super lucky.

    I picked up my 9.00 by browsing Facebook market place and asking for a photo of the version number with clear instructions that if they update it, I wasn't interested anymore. After 5 attempts, I found one for £115 with a bunch of games.

    They failed to tell me it over heated though, which was a clean and thermal paste job.

    If anyone is planning on replacing the thermal paste on one of these, I'd recommend using a carbon/graphite pad instead. I used Thermal Grizzly Carbonaut on an Xbox One X; results are almost as good as paste, with the big benefit being that it can't pump out. (edited)

    I received mine in damaged condition. They are using Evri for standard delivery and they definitely dropped or tossed around the package. The packaging did not help in spite of using good material. The bubble wrap sleeve wasn’t securely closed and console probably slipped out of the sleeve within the box breaking the casing.

    Paying £5 extra for next day delivery is definitely worth it. (edited)

    Just received mine, about same story here, box was ripped, and everything was tossed and mixed together, they looked in alright condition but done a diagnosis on the hard-drive and its been on for 185 days, that's like 555 days of playing 8 hours a day(who has that kind of time seriously).

    Needless to say sounds like a jet engine and was on firmwire 11.02, so going straight back, might as well use the money towards a ps5 at this point if its not in really good condition. (edited)

    Same here. GAME updated my console to be on 11.0.3

    Going to send it back. What a waste of time

    Edit: Possible future May-June exploit only goes up to 11.0.0. So it is not worth holding it into if above it (edited)
