Don't go if your wife is blonde. Unless you don't mind swapping her for 3 camels

Yes she is blonde with blue eyes. Ok reading that has scared the life out of me . Won’t be going now after I’ve read about the risks (edited)

Todays FCDO advice is not to go, shame because it is a nice place, but tensions in the area make it not a sensible place to be.

There are a million better places in the world to go. Don't scrape the bottom of the bowl, go somewhere else.

I went to Agadir for a week, it rained most of the time, funny given the amount of sunshine they normally get,
    it was disappointing.
Every single souvenir shop owner tried to drag you into their shop, very aggressive.

The tours weren't great either, didn't get to go to Marrakesh, maybe different but I doubt it.

I went there. Was soo tired of literally everyone trying to scam or get money out of me. It was just draining. The only enjoyable moment was a trip to the mountains away from the city. Read up on all the scams as people will try them all with you.

Hmm..no..not my experience. Feel obliged to stand up for the country.
Now I'll agree about Marrakesh souk, especially Jemaa el fna - the central square. Interesting to watch it unfold from a nearby café about 50 yards away maybe but a nasty place to visit. They've been ripping tourists off for centuries - it's chilled a bit in the souk but still unpleasant. Casablanca the same. Pretty much anywhere on the tourist trail in fact.
Outside the souk it's different - even parts of the old city are more pleasant to visit.
For instance, the vibe in Essaouira is completely different, much more chilled. We've also toured through Erfoud, Ouarzazate, Taroudant and walked in the High Atlas where we got invited to a wedding feast. Once we got off the tourist trail then we found the people to be genuinely friendly.

To say Morocco is horrible because of an experience in Marrakesh is like visiting the worst of tourist London for a weekend, then deducing the Lake District, Cornwall and the whole of the Cotswolds must be the same.

I've been with my wife to Marrakech. The hotel and food was great but venture outside and the locals constantly harass you. Women have to cover every bit of flesh otherwise they get starred at like crazy. My wife only showed her ankles and the men could barely contain themselves. My wife felt extremely uncomfortable.
