Putting light higher on wall.

Hello everyone. I had a light fitted a few months ago. But now the missus got this arbour and we need the light placing higher. It needs to go up between 30/50cm. I wanted to avoid drilling another hole. Any ideas how to do it? Thanks

Other than using "Skyhooks" your going to have to drill another hole to hold the weight of the light, I wouldn't trust anything like command strips as the Brick surface doesn't offer enough adhesion.

Buy a solar powered flood light and install it where you like. If missus changes her mind again move again😁

Could you make some sort of bracket / metal strip that attaches to the light and then uses the original hole? Its looks like it would be partly visible though depending on the size of the light and where the hangings are

Do you mean you dont want to drill another hole from inside to move the cable higher up the wall or another whole to fix the light in place?

It looks like youve got a fused spur inside supplying the light?

If thats the case just turn it off and take the cover off the light....see where in the back half of the light fitting the cable is coming through.....you maybe able to lift up the light by putting a hole in another entry point of the light fitting .

i.e. say the cable was coming through at the top of the light....you maybe able to rotate it 180 degrees so it come through at the bottom.

Having said that it looks the lights about 4 courses of brick in diameter and a brick with mortar is about 75mm x 4 = 300mm for the size of the light

Is that switch upstairs? How does the cable run down in the plastic trunking if the light is almost at ceiling height ?
Also as mentioned above, do you not want another hole to run cable from inside to outside or dont want more fixing holes to attach light to wall further up ?
You could just change the cable out for longer and run cable up the wall under light if it the hole through wall you're not wanting

Thanks for reply. I don't want to have to drill a hole from inside to outside or vice versa or move the spur box. If I swap out the wire and put a longer. How can I protect the wire that will be visible? Outside the light. Hope makes sense(currently wire going straight into back of light but because I'm going to move will a bit outside the light.

I hope the hole was drilled through pointing.
I'd just drill another and fill hole
Just need some yellow sand and cement 7-1 and fill hole.

I know you don't want to drill another hole but that's easiest way and will look tidy (edited)

Just add an external junction box where the light is.

You don't want to drill holes, yet you put up with that abomination inside the house ?
Either you man up and drill more holes, or tell her it's not happening.
