Best priced Openreach Fibre to the Premises Supplier

Hi all

I’m currently with EE and my 2 year contract for fibre to the premises (FTTP) has gone from £40 to £50 per month for 500 mbps.

Up until recently Plusnet were well priced and now their prices mirror EE.

All providers put up their prices every 12 months and the only one with an exit clause is Sky. If you aren’t happy with the price rise you can leave the contract.

The best deal I can’t see is Sky for £33 pm for 18 months though reviews of them are mixed.

Has anyone else seen good deals from another supplier on the Openreach network please?

Thanks all

Consider waiting until April, when new ofcom rules could go in to effect regarding mid contract rises.

good tip..if you can hold back until after Apr, you won't get stung with a price hike.
FTR, I started my BT 150MB deal back in Dec 2022 at £31pm, now paying £41 pm before the
    apr price hike...

Are you with them and how do you find the service?

Both Topcashback and Quidco have comparison features - Sky, Vodafone, and possibly others have hefty gift cards and cashback on offer; claim and your effective cost per month for 500Mb on OpenReach network is £25-30.

Speak to BT on their online chat. We got a good deal a few months back for £32

Why do you recommend given £35/mth is far from the cheapest?

Are Vodafone any good now? I know they were bad when they first launched their fibre.

Customer Services is the same as you expect from them (ie. poor).

Router is 'okay'; for larger/older houses, you may need to replace.

Internet is good; they use both Openreach and CityFibre, depending on what's available to your building. CityFibre is typically a few pounds a month cheaper. (edited)

EE offered me a retention offer of £33.99 per month for 500mpbs, no increases until next April. I was just within the last 3 months of my contract (edited)
