Qualifications in industrial laundry

Hi everyone.
At my work, there is a separate laundry department. There will be a position coming up ,possibly next month.
I want to get ahead of the other candidates & I thought that if I got a recognised qualification/certificate, etc. ,it would give me an advantage at the interview.
Does anyone know where I can find a course?
Thanks in advance.

Not sure what qualifications are available, but my advice would be to have a word with someone in the laundry department & learn about what they do, how they do it, etc. Ask if you can join them for an hour or two to watch what they do. So at your interview for the job you can impress the panel with your knowledge. Also, if someone from the laundry department is on the interview panel & they have seen you learning about the job that's likely to help. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for replying but I've found out that the closing date is in a few days, so getting on a course is out of the question. I suppose I could do an online COSHH course?

It is not going to hurt doing a COSHH course for basic awareness & to show willing & enthusiasm.

Thanks that's exactly what I someone told me earlier
Do you happen to know where I can find one online?

I am not advocating any course facilitator because I simply don't know but if you checkout reed.co.uk there are loads of courses on there. But some of them won't be beginners level.

Ask HSBC. They know the mechanisms of a commercial laundromat, and wrote the syllabus for its operation.

You haven't told us about your work place e.g is it hospital, care home or other industry? This will probably help to give tailored advice from people in the know.
