Moving from Apple to Android. Which phone do you recommend?

Just looking for advice on which is the best android phone in terms of features/build quality, never had one before so assuming something like the Samsung s24? Used iPhones for almost 15 years but recently had a terrible customer experience with them (all the way up to executive relations). It’s completely tarnished my view of the company and no longer want to support them in anyway. Thanks

Currently the Pixel 8 or 8 Pro imho. You'll get your very first taste of android how it's supposed to be!

If you want a vanilla os experience and great photos, go for the Pixel 8 (small phone) or 8 Pro (bigger phone). Also if you can get hold of the base Samsung Galaxy S23 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 cpu for a very good small phone experience, or if you like your big phones, the Galaxy S23/24 Ultra

Xiaomis are overall very good value for money. I've been using my X3 for the last few years and has not let me down once.

You might want to take a look at the X6 Pro, but it generally depends on your budget.

I still use one of these as my Android phone (Got my Iphone 14 pro max). Nothing wrong with the F3 and take it all over the place with me still

I always think with these threads you tend to get lots of people telling you what they use, but actually if you're moving from 15 years of iPhone you probably want a safe bet. After the 'safe bet' you know what you're doing and can then change it up with your next phone if you want.

I don't use either of these, but if was to rec something closest to iPhone experience and features I'd say go for a Pixel 8 or a Galaxy S24. The more budget option (you'll still get an iPhone rivalling camera) is the Pixel 7a, which could arguably be the best starting point.

Also go instore and check physical sizes, there's way more variance in Android!

This guide from the Wirecutter is a pretty good rundown. It puts the Pixel 8 top, I'd probably swing for the S24 for a new Android user, but can't go wrong with either

My nan went from a iphone 6 to Redmi note 12 recently, I had to buy a lightning to usb c cable but was honestly surprised by how easy it was to transfer everything and fairly quick. Maybe your iphone uses usb c so it might make it easier, I believe you might be able to use wireless transfer too. She wanted to change because a lot of the apps stopped working for her old ios version.

I have a Poco F5 that is fine for me, sounds like you might want something more premium though

I loved my Huawei mate 20 pro and people say the only phone that resembles this is honor magic 6 pro. That's my next phone.

Bear in mind that any paid apps will have to be repurchased.
