Most places are happy to accept pounds and euros.
One thing, don't expect loose change from pounds. They will give you change from pounds in euros.
Cash machines pay out in dollars , pounds, euros and lira there."},{"@type":"Comment","@id":"https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/52531758","author":{"@type":"Person","name":".MUFC."},"datePublished":"2024-04-06T16:27:52.000Z","text":"Pay in local currency, You'll get more bang for buck.
I generally used my Halifax clarity card to pay for most stuff.
There are several cards that you don't pay fees for and give you the best rates etc..
Chase is a good bank, I'd recommend that if you don't want a credit card."},{"@type":"Comment","@id":"https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/52530967","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"welsh_fella"},"datePublished":"2024-04-06T14:07:00.000Z","text":"Antalya.
Inflation is currently 70% there.
They don't like turkish lira. £,€,$ are seen as much safer forms of currency
Do you bartering in £, then declare you only have €. All part of the fun and they won't decline.
We visited many bazaars.
They are everywhere.
They put a lot of pressure on you to buy. Stand firm. Walk away to find out the best price."},{"@type":"Comment","@id":"https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/52531175","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"welsh_fella"},"datePublished":"2024-04-06T14:45:14.000Z","text":"So I bought jackets, t shirts, jumpers, trainers, and airpods. ( and a suitcase haha) all branded.
The quality of all feels really good, but time will tell.
T shirts €10-€15
Trainers €20
Jumpers €15-€20
Jackets €20-€40
Airpod pro €30
Handbag €20.
I'm fully aware it's all counterfeit, so comes with it's own risks.
Happy shopping "},{"@type":"Comment","@id":"https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/52536230","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"EdH"},"datePublished":"2024-04-07T13:25:08.000Z","text":"Just came back from TR. I was getting £1 = 40TL in Istanbul. Lots of exchange places. The rates are better there than here normally....but like anywhere probably not at the airport. As someone mentioned its like the bad old days in Turkey with really high inflation at the moment...70% a year. 3 years ago £1 = 20TL (Turkish Lira) and now its around £1 = 40TL.
Most Turks get paid in TL but change a lot of their money theyre not spending immediately into Dollars and Euros (and to a lesser extent £) to stop it being eroded by the decline in TL.
So follow the locals...."},{"@type":"Comment","@id":"https://www.hotukdeals.com/comments/permalink/52530811","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"yorkie12"},"datePublished":"2024-04-06T13:34:36.000Z","text":"Depends on which resort you are going to , but loads of places to change your money.
