Cancel the contract, get a 30 day SIM from one of the MVNO's and buy a SIM free handset. Enjoy the freedom

The only one who ever gets a good deal from a provider network contractor is the network.

Don't need to be anywhere near breaking the bank to obtain a rubbish deal.

If you absolutely have to commit to deal-unfriendly combination of
    • must happen tomorrow
    • Vodafone
    • in-store
    • Samdung:
maybe see what hilarity Voda has to offer, then compare to other marginally-less-deal-unfriendly Voda upgrade sources whilst in-store, such as presented with various options / filters to tailor to your preferences at
    mobiles.co.uk/vod…asc

Otherwise do as others suggest and lean towards deal-friendly flexible combo of SF-handset & 30days airtime arrangement.

Go to Carphone Warehouse instead if it has to be in person and a contract with Vodafone. You will get a better deal.

I'd add when you've done that and looked at which phone you prefer don't commit in store, go home and check through tcb and on here what deals are available through such as mobile phones direct, just checked and looks like even if you stick with cpw then online purchases through tcb will get you at least £40 cashback.

Go to comparison website and check what deal available before speak to Vodafone on upgrade.

Prepare to switch to MVNO like Lebara or voxi for a month and rejoin as new customer through 3rd party website for best deal.

If you want another Samsung, keep an eye on trade in deal.

By the way, what is your usage and budget?

P.S. never go in physical store and agree any upgrade . You can ask them what available then upgrade through online or phone CS, this gives you greater protection if you change your mind. (edited)

    Exactly this,
although 24hrs too late (tomorrow was yesterday at time of response),
and where consumer protection legislation is one of the factors promoting the death of high street.

A week after upgrade, which source offered the best deal:
    online or in-store ?
