Saving money on a game

I've never had playstation plus
I understand that you get free games to download each month...if you stop the PlayStation plus, do you lose the access do the game?

I want to play Sea of stars and want to get it at the cheapest possible price you see.
My current choices of platform is Nintendo switch and PS5.

Help and suggestions are welcome please

Thanks in advance

Sea of Stars is part of the catalogue that comes with PS Plus extra it isn't on the essential tier so definitely need an active subscription. I think you can get 3 months for £30 but the game is £30 anyway.

Its not even the next month's games as they're EA Sports FC 24, Ghostrunner 2, Tunic, Destiny 2: Light fall so essential won't get you the game.

if I remember correctly you can, but it’s been years since I used my PlayStation

EDIT - I just googled it, and it says, you do need a subscription (edited)

If you stop subscribing you lose access to the games.

I have yet to find a digital game across any of the current platforms that can be played offline. Those free to play games don't need a subscription, but they do need an internet connection!

    Hi
Sometimes the price difference between different countries eShops can be significant . . . I just had a look on eshop-prices.com and seen this game has a significant price difference in the South African eShop (South Africa is part of Nintendo of Europe, so is easy to buy from). It's a simple case of just changing your Nintendo account country at accounts.nintendo.com (as long as you have no eShop credit, any active subscription / pre-orders, or you are the Admin of a Family Group which has any Child accounts in it). You can of course create a separate Nintendo account if you wish. Pay preferably using a fee-free card as regular cards have a foreign currency transaction fee (though most are only 2% - 3%, some cards levy an additional flat fee on top eg. £1)

There are 3 tier levels to PS+

Essential - gets you 3 monthly games released on the first Tuesday of each month and online multiplayer access, you need to claim these but then they are yours to keep forever as long as you Sub to PS+. You also get online game saves.

Extra - the best value tier if you like games, which gives you 100s of games to play each month , you don't own these games(think netflix) so they way get removed from the service in several months time or years. You also get Essential games + online game saves, Sea of Stars may still be available on Extra.

Premium - includes Essential and Extra, but you also get access to some older games and can stream, considered not the best value.

Here is a list of games you get for the Extra and Premium tiers there are several AAA games.

It's recommended to purchase PS+ using topups bought from places like Shopto to save money, PS+ is expected to have a 25% off deal at the beginning of June. (edited)
