Laminate Flooring

Hi, I’m looking at getting some laminate flooring installed in my living room, I quite like the herringbone design. Is there a particular make I should purchase, or from a particular store? Also what kind of price would I be looking at for installation, medium size room (I haven’t had chance to measure up yet) thank you

I think Luxury Vinyl Flooring is the way to go and it can be bought for reasonable prices nowadays. We bought the type with underlay attached for our conservatory and really pleased with the result. Look at this site - ukflooringdirect.co.uk/col….ds

Thank you. What made you choose the luxury flooring, is it any different to other laminate flooring at all? I was looking at the herringbone design but don’t know how that is different to yours, thanks for the link

best to buy ones where there is a thin layer of real wood on top as this will give it a wood feel and make it less slippery. they also will last longer.

Engineered Wood (ours is by Tarkett) laid 14years ago and after a brush, still looks fantastic. With this type of floor you have the choice.of giving it a light sand and then re-staining / polishing it a totally different colour if you fancy a change. Ours is Merbau 3 strip- and goes with dark wood furniture as well as natural oak. Classic colours are timeless. (edited)

Are you after a brick, stone or wood print?

We have just fitted herringbone lvt. You need to make sure the floor is perfectly level before fitting.

Luxury vinyl all the way. If fitted correctly will last a lifetime. I’ve had Kardeen in our kitchen for 20+ years and it looks as good as it did the day we had it layed. Will not swell with contract mopping like laminate. We have not had the same product laid in our lounge. Would highly recommend they luxury vinyl over laminate,

I don’t mind luxury laminate for a kitchen but don’t think it will look good in a living room. What was the reason that you didn’t you have it in your lounge?

Would recommend Karndean, it’s expensive but in my opinion is worth it. Just make sure you get a fitter who has worked with it before and takes their time.
