About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
My GOLD subscription ran out recently and they have 12months subscription for only £23.99 on the Spotlight section.
Obviously you will need to turn off auto renewal after purchase - amazing price!

Hello people!
My xbox live subscription is due to Auto-renewal on the 1st November 2011 (had an email reminder), I called xbox 0800 587 1102, went through to the option - ask about anything else.
Spoke to a very nice chap and mentioned about this deal at 40% off, he wasnt aware of it, but after checking found it and gave me two options of renewing automatically now, or setting up auto-renewal at 1st November 2011 at £23.99 price.
Hope this helps some people that dont have the message appearing on their desktop and there subscription is due to or has expired

If you're on silver and you never see any offers for discounted gold membership be sure to check your settings. There's an option there somewhere to not have such offers displayed to you on your dash, and there's a good chance you've ticked that box when you initially set your account up...
Actually I think he means paypal. But lets not get drawn into an argument about which companies have the worst fraud protection.Voted hot, as this is a good deal - though I think a lot of people (myself included) have got about 3 years membership on their accounts already thanks to a few recent £1 per month glitches.
So for an additional £30 I'd have had 4 Gold memberships in the house. I'm guessing this would also work if you paid for two £23.99 Gold accounts, you could pretty much transfer to 4 for free.
Does that make sense? Long day!
In essence, a full year Xbox Live Gold membership(whatever you pay) is still worth £40 in the eyes of Xbox/MS when you buy a family pack.
To turn off auto-renewal for your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership:
Go to xbox.com/acc…nts .
Click Sign In (upper-right corner) and type your Windows Live ID information (if you’re not already signed in).
When logged in click MY ACCOUNT (under your name at the top)
Automatic Renewal will be i the middle of the grey box, click Change.
Change your automatic renewal setting to OFF.
Important If you turn off auto-renewal, your current Xbox LIVE Gold Membership will expire at the end of your paid membership time.
To immediately cancel your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership, please call Xbox Support.
"MS are a bit naughty with renewal notices.
Email "Automatic renewal notification for Gold- 40% off 12 mths". = £39.99
Rang asked about price and they gave me the 33% off 12 mths = £26.50
Checked online account and found this "Buy a discounted 12-month Gold membership today for only £23.99 VAT Included! You may cancel at any time."
Will ring tomoz and find out what's going on?
..........not just cowboy builders and p!ckies that rip you off?"
I think you have got MS mixed up with another console manufacturer when you talk about bank details and reputations especially in recent months and even in the last week.

Of course - The more people it helps to save money the better!
I just spent 20 minutes waiting in a phone queue trying to get this deal, only to be told that they aren't offering any deals at the moment and that I'll have to let my membership expire to get offered this type of discounted membership.
I have no doubt that you got the deal on the phone, but this is just typical from microsoft. I asked why they are offering this to other gold members and he denied that they would do this. I hate being lied to as much as I despise differential pricing and am seriously considering dropping my xbox and moving to a PS3. This is the ideal time because all the games I play are about to be updated and I could probably get a good deal. Does anyone know how well the online gaming compares to live?
So people are just re-posting the same bargain on here time and time again its never expiring.
What you talking about? You can turn it off on the website now.
Should do. Mine ran out a few weeks ago and I got 4 months at a quid each.
That's funny cos I have just moved from the PS3 to the Xbox after the worst customer Service I have ever had in my life from Playstation. I am pursuing it through Head Office and then through court if I have no luck with compensation.
I think you can get this offer only through xbox dashboard. When I go to xbox.com the price was £39.99...anyway you can give a try and call them to speak about 40% off offer.
Actually i used Paypal don`t like to share my credit card details with others

No as it will only be available to selected people who are currently on Silver membership
