Found 17th Oct 2011
My GOLD subscription ran out recently and they have 12months subscription for only £23.99 on the Spotlight section.

Obviously you will need to turn off auto renewal after purchase - amazing price!

Hello people!

My xbox live subscription is due to Auto-renewal on the 1st November 2011 (had an email reminder), I called xbox 0800 587 1102, went through to the option - ask about anything else.

Spoke to a very nice chap and mentioned about this deal at 40% off, he wasnt aware of it, but after checking found it and gave me two options of renewing automatically now, or setting up auto-renewal at 1st November 2011 at £23.99 price.

Hope this helps some people that dont have the message appearing on their desktop and there subscription is due to or has expired

Can you get this offer online via xbox.com or do you have to do it on the console? Only I don't have home internet at the moment.

Great price, all ready to catch out anyone with the latest ixtreme that foolishly go online when the next dashboard ban hammer comes into play next month.

I think you can get this offer only through xbox dashboard. When I go to xbox.com the price was £39.99...anyway you can give a try and call them to speak about 40% off offer.

I can only get £39.99 as well - shame!

From an earlier thread on same : Give a ring and complain.
"MS are a bit naughty with renewal notices.
Email "Automatic renewal notification for Gold- 40% off 12 mths". = £39.99
Rang asked about price and they gave me the 33% off 12 mths = £26.50
Checked online account and found this "Buy a discounted 12-month Gold membership today for only £23.99 VAT Included! You may cancel at any time."
Will ring tomoz and find out what's going on?
..........not just cowboy builders and p!ckies that rip you off?"

any web link to get that price?

Nice one

Bear in mind once they have your card details , you may get an automatic renewal next year for full price if the card is still valid

Only your bank details to a company with the worst reputation on the internet.

These aren't deals they're user dependant, while the OP may qualify that doesn't mean it'll be on all our dashes.

Agree with krooner.. my gold expired yesterday. i have a dash offer of 3 months gold for £6.

Yeah the $h!ts did that to me (I forgot and just thought that would be the price from now on)

Not on my dashboard:(

mine £7.50 for 3 months and 160ms points

Nothing on my dash

can we use MS points to buy this??

My subscription isn't due to run out until Christmas, if I was to buy this now would it just automatically be used when it's needed?

Not working for me either

I think you have got MS mixed up with another console manufacturer when you talk about bank details and reputations especially in recent months and even in the last week.

Nice one, you don't need to call up to turn off auto updates now as well this can be done on xbox.com, in your 'My Account' section

If you're on silver and you never see any offers for discounted gold membership be sure to check your settings. There's an option there somewhere to not have such offers displayed to you on your dash, and there's a good chance you've ticked that box when you initially set your account up...

Voted hot, as this is a good deal - though I think a lot of people (myself included) have got about 3 years membership on their accounts already thanks to a few recent £1 per month glitches.

Actually I think he means paypal. But lets not get drawn into an argument about which companies have the worst fraud protection.

Not there for me either, will check back later

Not here for me either

Have £2 for two months offer showing up!
But nothing for a year

I just spent 20 minutes waiting in a phone queue trying to get this deal, only to be told that they aren't offering any deals at the moment and that I'll have to let my membership expire to get offered this type of discounted membership.

I have no doubt that you got the deal on the phone, but this is just typical from microsoft. I asked why they are offering this to other gold members and he denied that they would do this. I hate being lied to as much as I despise differential pricing and am seriously considering dropping my xbox and moving to a PS3. This is the ideal time because all the games I play are about to be updated and I could probably get a good deal. Does anyone know how well the online gaming compares to live?

Sorry to hear about that.

The gentleman I spoke to was very helpful.
Did you get through to an overseas helpdesk?
