Unlimited broadband & line rental equiv £7/mth. MSE Blagged. From Thurs for a week, TalkTalk Essentials* (avail to 85% of UK) is a super hot deal on a 1 year contract...

- You get a £70 Love2Shop voucher (valid at Argos, B&Q, Iceland, Boots & more).
- You need its line rent. Paying £114 upfront for a year is cheapest (or £14.95/mth).
- Half price unlimited download broadband (so £3.25/mth) - good for TV streaming.
- Evening and weekend calls to landlines included (ie the first 60 minutes per call are free).

Assuming you pay the line rent upfront, the total package is £153/yr. Factor the voucher in as cash, and that's £83/yr, equiv to £6.92/mth.

I was tempted by this.

BUT.

Talk Talk have a terrible reputation for Customer Service - that is, lack of!

So, however cheap it is, I shan't bother - I simply don't want endless hassles .......
I got this last year.
Paid £114 upfront for line rental for the year. I only pay £3.25pm for broadband & calls. Offer at the time was free love film instant for the year.I already had that so they gave me free installation on the phone line (£50)
Changed over from Sky & didn't notice any difference in broadband speed.
Couldn't be happier, least i'm not paying Sky for tv I never watch.
Sound like a good deal. Anyone knows how much cost to cancel contract with virgin?
I have always had good service from talktalk
voted hot but im outside the network coverage in cheshire
Is this for new customers only?
Considering the £114 prepaid line rental has, by definition, to be paid upfront, would it not be appropriate to state this in the deal title?
Otherwise appears a decent deal when it become available.
£114 is cheapest option (£9.50/month)
If you don't pay upfront it works out at £12.75/month which is what it says in the title

As it probably changes regularly
I suggest you you give them a
call. They will do all they can to
keep you as a customer so have
all your details to hand.

I was interested in this until i saw this

Anyone who needs a new line or is on a cable line won't get the voucher.

I rang today to ask a few questions and was assured i would get the voucher and free line install, however im not confident it will come true once signed up.
I signed with Talk Talk yesterday through quidco as they are offering £70 cashback on this package obviously without the voucher...works out the same
I've had no issues with Talk Talk since I joined 5 months ago, just making a good saving on what I was paying with Plusnet which at the time had only 10gb and 3mb speed (now 7mb with TT) allowance. TT offered unlimited downloads, great phone line features easily controlled by their online control panel, I'm still waiting for Armageddon to befall me but I'm hoping TT have turned the corner from their grim pass reputation and that they indeed have got their house in order.
I also got these prices and £50 worth of vouchers which arrived 3 days after I was switched over.
Avoid TalkTalk like the plague! Terrible service!

Agree with your math but think you need a mod to explain usual site convention of deal titles stating price(s) prior to non-auto-cashback / vouchers.
In this case the minimum payment to the service provider (without prepayments) is £18.20 monthly.

Nicojo, what you said was, "line rent upfront ... £153/yr. Factor the voucher in as cash, and that's £83/yr, equiv to £6.92/mth."

£12.75 is the total when you do pay up front, but don't count your cashback before it hatches, as per the hukd rules, I take it someone edited that for you.
I think it is a cracking offer. I have been with them for almost a year and there is no different between talk talk and my old provider Orange. I just pay less. I think that was a great saving and recommend it to everybody...

Any one knows if this offer only for new customers? Would like to extend my contract with £70 cashback and half price broadband again!!
Was with these before all I had is trouble, and they would not sort out the problems, my phone line was off most of the time .

TT retentions team will normally look to match / better the deals available to new customers at your first mention to TT of your intention of moving to another provider when your existing contract expires.
customer services is terrible, would not recommend them for this reason

Do they slow down in peak times
talk talk always get whiny criticism, which is fair comment, i suppose, if you've suffered historically. but i don't see why their service would be anything other than straightforward so i went for it, earlier today.

plus, because of the quidco offer, i joined today too as cashback is preferable to vouchers.

the only thing i was told, as parting shot from Orange, was that talk talk don't use bt lines so there will be a reconnection fee at some point in the future to leave talk talk. but i figure the savings are worth it, for now. plus, get extra 3% by direct debit via santander current account. plus, by then, we'll all be using mobiles instead of landlines so, stuff 'em!

come one, 6.70 per month gotta be worth a punt, no?

could you still get this deal + go thur a cashback site ?
The most appalling customer service I have ever experienced from a company.
Got charged a compulsory £50 installation fee for Youview box and the 'engineer' wad so useless that he left my house with the box not working, disconnected my wireless network and I spent all evening reconfiguring my network to get it working again! Unfortunately he fitted it while my wife was there and I was at work.
I have been trying to register s complaint with their 'customer services' department since December, but if you are ever dumb enough to use this company, you'll realize that this is an oxymoronic term.
They have not been voted the worst British company for successive years for nothing! Sign the contract in haste and repent in leisure.
Voted stone cold.
who give you the £70 Love2Shop voucher ?
They don't use by lines? They are sending a BT openreach engineer to install the line of says in my letter from them

Thanks for pointing that out, would much rather have the cash than the voucher.
If you pay up front you might have problem with quidco, so voucher is better I think...

Just call and request that they send you the £70 love2shop voucher, if they refuse, ask them to take you to cancellatio department and they will surely sort you out.
Simply the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I suppose they would be ok if you never need to talk to them but if you do you'll waste hours of your life talking to idiots. Avoid!!
if u heavy broadband user stay away from talktalk.maybe its unlimited but with peak hours.
max speed between 6am-12pm 50kb/s
moved to sky
talktalk customer service its a joke!!!
Thanks for advice, seems I have been told lies already then before a sign up, will look elsewhere
I've been with Talk Talk for roughly a year now. just recently had a problem with the line where i was getting crackling and couldn't make calls. Called them up, they send out an engineer and it was found to be a problem with the line coming in to the house being damaged with the weather. didn't have any issues and they redirected calls to my mobile. Also just got an email from them saying they will reimburse me 1 months line rental. Didn't even have to ask.

So good customer service for me
they are voted worse company for customer service 4 years running
I would not get TalkTalk AGANI even if you paid me to use them! WORST PROVIDER EVER!!!!!!!!
I used to be with TalkTalk - the worst company I've ever had to deal with (apart from BT, who are in a league of their own). Terrible service. Sorry, cold from me because this company really does deserve their poor reputation as an ISP. Steer well clear!
I have talktalk for last two years (moved from Sky) not much regret but as others has pointed if you have to call CS then expect worst experience otherwise its fine.
Used to have talktalk quite a while ago gotta agree with others, their CS was awful. But with regards to price this is a good deal!
