    This or the Kioxia Exceria G2 (which is Gen 3 and slower but has dram)

    Will be using as an external drive for backups and video editing (usb c) on a MacBook. (edited)

    If it'll stay as an external, may as well go for this.
    If there's a chance you'll use it as a OS/app drive at some point in the future, get the Kioxia.

    Though this doesn't have DRAM, it does have HMB support, which is better than nothing. (edited)
