I have this (paid £4.99 for it in March, so don't know how realistic that rrp is) and it's a fantastic little bit of kit.

They are ok but tend to shatter/break if being used on a stubborn screw.

Not used often but lifesaver when it is used! Very handy to have as these are the kind of tools you don’t need until you really need them..

great tool to have handy. I remember I was stuck to tighten my glasses screw. Heat added.

Are these the usual far east made and might as well be made form chocolate?

I've got better precision kits, but it's perfectly adequate. It's a little set for little things. I'm at the front of the queue to slate absolutely anything rolson as it's just carp. This set has its uses.

Shame there doesn't seem to be the security torx used on Xbox controllers here.

Great piece of kit, and as mentioned before it's a lifesaver and very handy (it's also the only SIM-popper I can ever find). At this price it's a no-brainer, heat added

    Chocolate version likely stronger?!

I have had this exact kit for about 4-5 years now - it is actually quite well built. Its not meant for heavy duty use - its a precision kit so dont expect it to deal with anything needing a hefty amount of torque.
For taking apart electronics its great.

Is this set magnetic? Always seem to struggle with getting the smaller screws in place with those that aren't.

I got the same set from aliexpress for 10p with free postage in a welcome deal. They're decent, do the job.

I fix camera lenses time to time.I have this product and I must say that this is the sort of kit that breaks within 2 uses and it also ruins the screws alongside...I do not recommend this item to anyone.

    Nice little cheapo kit.
Got one as I'm always losing my bits. Cheers.

I am sure that you can buy better quality at a higher price but it is a bargain at this price. Worth a try and if you really aren't happy with it, you haven't lost much. There is a saying "buy cheap buy twice" but sometimes cheap stuff is not bad.

These are junk, I have 2 sets one of which has a cap that screws on I assume to lock bits into place but they fall out and the other one doesn't have a way to lock bits in and they fall out. When they do work they are okay but if the screw is stiff the bits will break easily. Could anyone recommend a decent set or brand as I do use them a lot and should probably upgrade?

Ali express has loads of sets that are pretty good. Big BUT these precision sets are good for small things, get a set with plenty of bits so it fits whatever you want to screw/unscrew as best you can.

    £5.99 with a 15% voucher, so £5.09

50636660-UZMW3.jpgMine are in plain black case, from Ali express probably about £2.29 or something daft like that. (edited)

I have this set, I very fiddly wouldn't recommend unless your constrained on budget

I have this set. That little flap over the bits is all that holds them in along with gravity. Hold the case upside down by mistake and the bits all fall out. Annoying.
    Adaks_'s avatar
it only falls out if you shake it like a mad person with it open, but just having it upside down is fine for me (edited)
