arrghhh.... what to do, ideally I want the faster units but given I am moving from mech SATA drives, these would still be super fast
    deathtrap3000's avatar
Faster you get the less you notice. Like the jump from SD TV to HD or dvd to Blu-ray was amazing but going up to 4k isn't that noticeable. From an HDD to sata SSD is a great step, then to one of these is a slight improvement. Going from one of these to a gen 4 7000mbps card isn't going to be noticeable.

Crazy price for the 2TB, shame they switched these drives over to QLC
  4. jayykensington's avatar
Would these work with Steam Deck ?
    A57ton's avatar
    No, this is a 2280, you need a 2230
  5. garnerw's avatar
Would this be good for gaming?
    SpencerUk's avatar
Be fine as once the game is installed its just reading the data
  6. amzbrown's avatar
Out of stock now and 115+ from other suppliers
  7. RandyLanzarote's avatar
Ruddy heck, that's a price drop.

Trying to think if I can face doing a drive transfer again.....
    newt182's avatar
Just robocopy and sync updated files when the PC is powered

Great price for the 2TB! Anyone using a PCIe to M.2 adapter, if so which one?
    orangepants's avatar
I replaced an old SN550 over the weekend with a larger SN770 and needed something similar to be able to properly nuke the old NVME (Secure Erase via Bios or WD Dashboard wasn't supported over USB with the enclosure I have), so I bought this one from Amazon. Admittedly it has only been in my PC for a day, so I can't comment on long-term reliability, but it went in no problems and the drive was automatically recognised. It comes with a heatsink as well.

I'll probably use it for this cheap 2TB P3 whenever it turns up. (edited)

Is the p3 tlc or qlc?

QLC it seems so low TBW

Average spec for what should be the normal price, far too long have 2TB drives been around £110-£130. It's a start but still not good enough and we're getting ripped off on 4TB pricing still.
  11. Hivanh91's avatar
Can these be used for the ps5?
    anttony's avatar
    No it’s not gen 4
  12. ittom's avatar
The 1TB is still in stock although it's now increased in price to £58, scratch that, it's now £64.79, It's got more inflation than the UK this thing...

It was still accepting the 10% off code that is on the other listing for Crucial drives 10CRUCIAL and although it's not as cheap as originally, it's still a bit of a bargain if you're looking for a drive
  13. Callum118's avatar
    Amazing price for the 2tb

    £209.74! for 4TB SSD
    waqyp's avatar
Do I buy now, or wait for a Gen4 4TB to get close to this?
  15. Phoenix_Fire's avatar
Bought one as a second drive.

Great deal for the 2 TB. They had around 350+ a couple of hours ago. They're down to 120 ish now. Even though its gen 3, you won't get cheaper than £82 for a while - I've been hunting parts for the past 3 months. Managed to snag a 2 TB Samsung 980 pro as main SSD for £140 after cashback in November. Said it then that I wouldn't get a better deal even with Black Friday and that proved true.

The 2TB ssd's will be gone by the morning so if you are on the fence, you won't have much time.

I expect when gen 5 become mainstream this price will become the norm but wjo knows when that is?
    deathtrap3000's avatar
Don't think prices will change that much. SATA SSD's still maintain similar prices to gen 3 drives.

I just upgraded from a 500Mb Kingston (years old) to a 2TB WD_BLACK SN850X and paid 170 quid for it.

Do i notice a difference in boot speed or loading? Nope so if you are looking to upgrade, don't fret about the performance, they are all quick!
  17. Going_Digital's avatar
    Prices have all been increased!
  18. wah0007's avatar
    Price went up too.
  19. joe140's avatar
Will this be good for 6k video editing?
    KITTYBOTS's avatar
Probably not the best as you would ideally go for a TLC drive with DRAM cache, but this amazing value for a 2TB nvme drive.
  20. Deal_HUNT3R's avatar
Screenshot for the spec sheet is for the wrong drives?
    Flapjackuk's avatar
    Yes it's wrong

Gen3 not good for ps5 ? Needs heat sink
  22. jasonharmsworth's avatar
Here's an even better deal I got. Just apply for PayPal credit and they take £20 off your 1st order using PayPal credit. £70.13 delivered
    thelagmonster's avatar
Surely that would make it £62 for the 2TB? Or did you go for express delivery?
  23. sergiup's avatar
Yes this isn't one of the higher performance drives, but for most users, this is excellent pricing for 2TB.
  24. Lambadelta's avatar
60 2TB drives left according to the basket stock checker.

Cheapest 2TB of any SSD that's not a misprice.
  27. H_G2's avatar
    Dam, missed the 2tb 🤦‍♂️
  28. Conkers816's avatar
Going for the 4TB one as I have two 2TB’s in my machine at the moment and I can sell those to offset some of the cost.

Stuck on confirming payment at the moment though so I imagine the site is getting hammered.

£218 with express delivery as opposed to £238 on Amazon
  29. kingLAWZA's avatar
    Waiting for 2tb!
  30. Conkers816's avatar
FINALLY checked out the 4TB one when I got home. Knowing my luck, I'll end up with 6 with all the attempts I made earlier ..

This might be a good overall deal for someone, but with the best valued of the bunch OOS, does this top thread generally smell a bit fishy? Loss leader may be, but where is the leader, on number?
  32. MarcoLoves360's avatar
Shame i been waiting for ages for a 2tb for this price oh well
