40% off all refurb phones at Clearance Bargains in Stanley (the Argos outlet store). They had a very big selection of iPhones there, plenty of X, XR, XS, SE 2, and 11 models all at 40% off the marked price and with a 12 month warranty. I picked up an 64gb SE2 with 100% battery health that looks pretty much as New for £179 as an example of prices. Ignore the iPhone 6 and 7 that they are selling as they are still overpriced even with the discount but there are some great prices for newer models.

Sounds great if you live in Stanley.

At least there's actually some stock and it's not the usual "I saw a Nintendo Switch for £120 in Aldershot Sainsburys" wild goose chase.

Or anywhere in Tyne & Wear or Durham. It’s only 12 miles from Newcastle for example. There are other Clearance Bargains stores in Walsall, Darlington, and some other places. Hopefully someone can have a look in and see if they are also doing this offer.

Also this isn’t to do with the phones but I thought I’d mention that they had a big pile of Xbox Elite Series 2 refurb controllers for £89.99 as well.

Admittedly if they have been professionally refurbed by the manufacturer they should not be in this state.

With argos you are pretty much guaranteed these are customer returns as far as I am aware, they don't do actual 'refurbishment' in house.

Absolutely there's loads. No WGC if you live in Stanley. Just wish Argos would share the love and stick a few on their ebay outlet. They used to have a clearance section in most Argos shops years ago which was a great reason for popping in.

Wish they'd stick these on their eBay store, I'm looking for one, £160 brand new so these are a great bargain.

Agreed. I can't justify the £160 tag though, as word is the gen 3 will be here fairly soon which should try to compete with Sony's haptics and trigger tensions.

I really miss this place! I've had laptops, phones, TV- all sorts from here. All been spot on!

From Consett originally but moved down south. Will have to have a look in when I'm back next month!

I was there on Sunday I believe the highest model phone I saw was an s20 ultra but I am sure I saw a phone for 999.99 so that may have been an s21 model. They had a red s20fe which I think was 529 but then 40% off it. Google pixels, iphones, sony and samsung. if your local and think its worth the trip they have a number 01207 288790 you can contact that store directly but from experience they rarely hold an item. I was watching a Youtube video the other day on repairing mobile phones, …I was watching a Youtube video the other day on repairing mobile phones, this specific one was about an iPhone where the display would turn on & off. A customer had brought it into a repair shop to see if they could resolve the fault. The customer told the repair shop it was bought as a refurb that worked fine for a period of time but then started displaying the fault mentioned.Upon investigation it had been found it was refurbed to a poor standard with poor quality solder work to the SMD chips & some ingress of dampness was found inside. It took many hours to finally repair but overall the mainboard circuitry was in a bad way & couldn't be considered something that would be reliable in the future. To be honest these phones are stuffed with so much tech in a tight place, covered with all types of (unknown) sealant it's surprising it's possible to repair them to anywhere near the standard when they were new.

But refurbishment doesn’t mean repaired it just a fancy word for second hand which have been refurbished by wiping over with a damp cloth. They can also be customer returns often not even switched on you just have to check what type it is.

It is on all phones. To be honest I didn’t look at the Android phones so I couldn’t tell you what they had, sorry. I was drawn to the iPhone SE2 and XR prices as that’s what I was looking for.

They've put the prices up for them as I got one a few months ago for £69.99

Rather less of a gamble with 12 months Argos warranty than buying off eBay or the like though

And of course you get to look at the phone in person before it so you can check for any marks and look at the battery health as well.

Thanks thats good to know, it's actually for my son, his last one developed a fault so I returned it but they (Argos on eBay) refunded as none in stock to replace, so hopefully a gen 3 will be available in time for an Xmas present.

Not many good ones left, at least on the XR, SE or 11 and definitely not Argos returns what they had left

Yes, they had some Apple Watches in the cabinet just by the counter but I don't think that they were included in the 40% Off Mobiles offer though.
