Very rare to see one of the classic adidas heritage boots drop in price like this, but they're 50% off at Sports Direct (£42.49 + £4.99 delivery) and available in the most popular sizes. These are consistently £85 at both Adidas and ProDirect Soccer with both missing some popular sizes.

One of the few football boots to maintain a more traditional style, with the black and white colourway, full grain leather upper, and fold over tongue. The way a football boot should be if you ask me!

Shopping for footy trainers has to be THE most disappointing task on the planet.

So difficult. Especially as most makes seen to think that men's feet are the width of a banana.

After about a month of looking I whittled it down to 2 and thankfully I'm really happy with my choice.

At almost 47 I'm hoping my selection (Nike) will see me to retirement.

These look OK but without any heel cushioning. (edited)

Hi i have tried lots of different boots. Generally you will get discrepancies between the surface models for each boot. E.g. the stud version might be fine but the astro version may be tight. This is sometimes due to the fact that the astro models are made using slightly different less flexible material compared to the stud versions of boots.

The widest Nike astro would probably be the Tiempo or Premier. The widest Adidas astro would be the Predator Accuracy.

I tried astro versions of the Nike Mercurial and Phantom GT. The Mercurial was wider than the Phantom which is strange as the AG variants are the opposite. E.g. Phantoms are wider than Mercurials, and I wear the Phantoms as my go to AG boot. My current Astro boots are the Adidas SpeedPortal .1 . I took the laces out and was able to fit. However i have neither narrow or wide feet. So others may not fit.

A few other tips: Take out the laces. It can make the boot wider.

Mizuno do a wide fit but their returns can be less straight forward as sometimes they ship from Belgium.

I would advise just buying direct from Nike and Adidas and trying the boots and returning them if you don't like the fit.

Anyone can say how these fit? Are they narrow like most adidas trainers?

Personally found them a little wider than usual adidas and especially wider than modern designs. With a leather upper you can stretch them out a bit.

Cannot beat a pair of adidas Kaiser

Yes you can with a pair of World Cups or Copa Mundials. They are silly money now though.

These are more trainer like than boots Decent price however.

Great deal...excellent astro turf boots...however the kings remain the more expensive 'Mundial Team'...IMO part of the best range ever made! Forget the modern-day luminous-coloured synthetic crap they make today!

You can wear them in the shower if you want

My pair have done me proud, lasted 3+ years of weekly 7-a-sides. They are lot chunkier than other football trainers and get very heavy when wet - but generally very decent and this is good value!

I’ve got the mouldies of these and I’m very happy with them, going strong for 5/6 years (admittedly they got a Covid break!)

I tried Kaiser's, Mundial Teams and finally settled on some Copa Gloros(also Kangaroo leather) as they were the best fit for me. Despite having average width feet the Mundials and Kaiser's were too narrow across my toes and pinched. Going up a size simply made them too long. Thankfully Adidas have a very good return system when buying direct. (edited)

I wouldn't expect it to be in store, sorry. Can't be sure but these types of deals rarely are - correct me later if I'm wrong though please!

Watch out for the returns policy. Paid returns only via their tracked service. Can't return to store. Can't return part of an order it's the whole order or nothing. Certain items excluded from returns due to hygiene (not sure what these are but could include trainers).

You can return footwear under standard return policy, very few items are excluded on hygiene basis.

Tempted with these for coaching my kids on the Astro. Been a while since I spotted Adidas boots (wear their trainers all the time). When I used to wear Predators I always had to order a size up from what size I wore in Nike boots…. Anyone else had this problem before?
    cbates60's avatar
Same. It’s because Adidas sizing is smaller than Nike. A size 9 in Adidas is a 43 1/3 EU or 26.7 CM. A size 9 in Nike is a 44 EU or 28 CM. It’s a reasonable difference, especially if you’re wearing good footy socks.
