After about 6 months I was seeing files kept getting corrupted. Not great when it's job is to keep data safe

Wow, cheapest I've ever seen for the 256gb A2 U3!

If these cards are bad enough for multiple bad experiences in one comment section, go with a Samsung or SanDisk
I've got cards from both brands that are fine after 6 & 9 years

I'm sure this was posted earlier? . Either way excellent price for 256gb and I have the 1tb version for my steam deck and is working fine so far

People say they die without giving context, i.e. how much they write to them. Putting them in a continuously-looping camera will wear them out a lot faster than writing a file and leaving it there.

Are these really that bad? Same manufacturer as lexar with quite good reviews and recommendations from independent testers when googling it. I've never tried their SD cards but their other Amazon branded stuff has never let me down yet. I've got a lexar card that's 10y old and still going strong with heavy usage (videography). Lexar cards and these amazon ones are made by longsys. It's good to be brand agnostic and act based on facts. Otherwise, you're actually paying between 30-100+% markup just because of the branding. The only downside I can see is that the blanket warranty on all Amazon stuff is limited to 1 year although I suspect Amazon will just replace this no questions asked based on personal experience. (Amazon is bad news for many companies... They capitalise on economies of scale. They don't have to cut corners like many companies to deliver on price. They strike big deals with the manufacturers and price out competitors. They control the warehouse and transportation chain. QC may be less stringent, as with any other mass retailer who outsources manufacturing. but that's why if you ask for a replacement, Amazon will just oblige because their reputation is very important for their economic model to even make any sense. As long as your account looks like you're not repeatedly abusing the returns policy, you should be fine... They've refunded me on used items past warranty... There was once a mix-up with their return instructions and they asked me to keep the item instead and also issued a refund... They've also once delivered new expensive li batteries even though the batteries cost more than the product... Etc etc).

Update: been using it since arrived. Faultless so far. Sustainable recording at 100mbps bitrate. (edited)

Cards are made by Longsys who own Lexar. Nothing to be worried about.

cheap but they're not very good quality cards.

Likewise good experience so far, been using the 256GB in my main phone for camera pics/movies/music since May 2022 got it for £20+ back then would jump at it for £10+ if I needed. Just bought the samsung 512GB pro for my steam deck on prime day ish otherwise would have considering getting another.
