M2 chip
The M2 chip brings astonishing performance to the Apple iPad Pro. You can create photorealistic 3D designs, build intricate AR models and play games with console-quality graphics at high frame rates.

A complete movie studio in your hands
The high-performance media engine on M2 accelerates ProRes encode and decode. So you can convert video projects to ProRes up to 3x faster than before.

ProRes video capture
You can capture ProRes video, using the high-performance media engine and image signal processor on M2 and amazing cameras on the Apple iPad Pro. Five studio-quality microphones and four-speaker audio with support for Dolby Atmos let you record and deliver theatre-like sound.

32.77 cm [12.9"] Liquid Retina XDR display
The Liquid Retina XDR display delivers true-to-life detail with a 10,00,000:1 contrast ratio, great for viewing and editing HDR photos and videos, or enjoying your favourite movies and TV shows. It also features a breathtaking 1,000 nits of full-screen brightness and 1,600 nits of peak brightness along with great display technologies like P3 wide colour, True Tone and ProMotion. And you can use Reference Mode for a more colour-accurate workflow.

Mini-LEDs
To achieve brightness, Apple used an array of LEDs across the entire back of the display. To fit them in the incredibly thin Apple iPad Pro, custom-designed mini-LEDs have been used that are 120 times smaller than the previous generations. Custom-sized optical films and diffusers mix the light more efficiently and fit in a design that's just 6.4-millimetre thin.

Local dimming zones
Over 10,000 mini-LEDs are grouped into more than 2,500 local dimming zones. Depending on the content, the brightness in each zone can be precisely adjusted to achieve an astonishing 10,00,000:1 contrast ratio. Even the detailed HDR content with the finer specular highlights - like galaxies and action movie explosions - are more true to life than ever.

Cameras. Capture and connect. On a deeper level
The Apple iPad Pro features an Ultra Wide camera with a 12MP sensor and a 122-degree field of view, perfect for capturing photos and video for social posts, FaceTime calls with Centre Stage or epic Portrait mode selfies. And it works with the TrueDepth camera to securely unlock iPad Pro with Face ID.

Centre Stage
Using the Ultra Wide camera and machine learning, Centre Stage changes the way you participate in video calls. As you move around, it automatically adjusts to keep you centred in the frame. When others join in or leave the call, the view expands or zooms in. Centre Stage works with FaceTime and other video conferencing apps for an even more engaging experience.

Pro cameras
The Wide and Ultra Wide cameras help you capture the perfect photo or video. And with support for ProRes video capture, the Apple iPad Pro is a mobile video studio. The powerful ISP in the M2 chip also supports Smart HDR 4, so photos shot on the Apple iPad look even more true to life.

LIDAR
The LiDAR Scanner measures how long it takes light to reflect back from objects, so it can create a depth map of any space you're in and unlock immersive AR experiences. And it works with the ISP to accurately focus images and videos in low-light conditions and reduce capture time.

49302449-BseZP.jpgMine came today. Still under phone support until end of Feb, and AppleCare until end of November.

Quick look and it seems to be mint condition. A few thumb prints on the screen, but i can live with that.

The whole thing came packaged up in some much protection it took me about 30 mins just to unwrap the packaging LOL

Charger and cable seem to be unused, but the cable seems to be 'stringy' rather than the smooth white cable you normally get with Apple products. Is this normal or could it be a third party cable?

The screen cable rather flimsily wrapped up in a 'paper clingfilm' protector type of thing instead of the sticky back plastic one ive had before on older iPhones. Again, wondered if Apple have changed their shrink wrapped pack to be more recyclable?

Shame Apple aren’t committing to iPad OS like once thought. This should be running Mac OS!

Agreed, this hardware is capable of so much more but should future prrof it for a while and the display on the latest 12.9's are incredible.

I bought one today from my local CEX and it says the limited warranty expires 05/12/23 which must mean it was first purchased on 05/12/22.. the date on the CEX sticker said 6th Dec 22 so I imagine mine was traded in brand new and probably only turned on to test it! It’s absolutely immaculate so I imagine that’s what it is. Not worried about any potential reporting of lost or stolen having the 24 month warranty - something that would have worried me if buying on eBay or wherever though.

Fantastic deal and a great bit of kit!

Couldn’t this model be reported as stolen/lost and be blocked as it is most likely to have been purchased under a data contract?
    Steeljedi's avatar
    Steeljedi Author
Unlikely as they have to provide ID and have an account with CEX to sell to them so they would end up with the police at their door. It is also covered by 2 year warranty if you did have problems tho

The charger and cable on mine were still in wrapping. Looks completely unused. Not guaranteed but must be boxed and with no signs of use to be grade A and as only launched in late October it is likely to be very good nick

Ordered the B grade 256GB version for £900, shipped last night.

Always found CEX decent to deal with and usually a B grade is immaculate without the box...

The B grade iPhone 13 pro max I bought after xmas from them had about 7 long scratches on the screen.

The one I finally picked up from cash converters was completely immaculate with applecare still available on it.

Thank you - ordered a 256gb rather than cellular for £880, but traded in a whole load of old tech for £499 so £381! ended up with a one which was brand new - registered on 24th Dec! Happy Days - still plenty of stock!
    Professor_Chaos's avatar
    Professor_Chaos
no 256Gb in stock now, and only three remaining for the cellular version. Good luck to anyone who bags one. I did predict out of stock by end of the week

This deal should have got much more heat than it did. Only reasons I can think why it didn’t is because it wasn’t sponsored and/or a Deal Editor didn’t post it

iPads are still relatively cheap from £369 brand new however this is the top spec (apart from storage) latest generation iPad pro and yes, at £1429 new they are pricey but if it is what you want and can afford they are great pieces of kit.

Just FYI as some seem to be having problems paying ... My first attempt to pay failed vis Amex. Then I tried with Google Pay and it worked. This was for Space Grey 128Gb. Thx to the OP and will let everyone know how it is when i get it.

That was quick. Delivered this morning. Same comments as shaggy. The covering of the iPad was like teaching paper, I remember it used to be thicker plastic and cable is braided .. but no biggie. Out of the box warranty was to 14 Dec 2023 and even offered the official AppleCare+ 2 yr warranty for £149. Battery charged to 100%. So far so good …. No complaints here.

I bought the logo keyboard from Curry’s (I don’t know how to import the link here but someone else already mentioned it in this thread). It’s half price of Apple Original keyboard and arguable better as the keyboard detaches and you can use as a tablet without taking the iPad out of the case.

Link for the logo keyboard ? I got a cheap stand case and paper screen protector and also a camera lens protector from Amazon delivered Monday.

Not sure what the issue with paying is as I didn’t have any

    mine delivered tomorrow

    rhanks OP

My guess is these are totally brand new and not sold to CEX by individuals . Maybe they got them as part of some promotion and bought the lot

the box has to be opened so they can inspect before selling (edited)
    Steeljedi's avatar

The buying thing may be due to the value, anything over £500 and my card issuer makes me log in to the app to approve. So maybe that is why some people are having issues. Hope your ipad is as good as mine and you enjoy it as much!

I have a couple of spare Lebara sims on the 1p deal so might as well use them in this ipad

but whether I use the recommended Lebara settings or the Vodafone ones the data does not work. Does the sim have to be a dedicated data sim or could I insert any voice and data sim?

I asked this on the Lebara thread but got no response so trying my luck on here
    amour3k's avatar
    amour3k
I once owned an HP Android tablet, that had SIM capacities on it, but never tried such here.

Similar has been tried abroad though, and with great success too (may I add?).

And yes, it was via a normal SIM card as well (as in, a SIM that capable of BOTH voice calls + data too, etc?) - as opposed to that of a dedicated data only SIM, or whatever?

Personally speaking mind, I reckon you need to get back onto Lebara customer service's thing, od something, with that one?

Was just looking at these on eBay last night, cheapest Buy It Now is £950. Tempted to upgrade my 12.9 iPad Pro 3rd Gen, those are selling for £550ish but equally don’t know whether to hold out a little longer…

Yea, same here but the ebay one is scratched also! I made the jump at this price. The 5th and 6th are a big jump forward, even over the 4

CEX is the best price for ipads but if these will be sold like hot cakes, cex will put prices up like they did with m1 air.

I'd want one if they went Surface Pro with it and it wasn't using the horrible IOS. Oh and I'd also want an SD card slot like my Mac, because it's vital for easily transferring files.

You not just use the Thunderbolt USB4 conection? Much much faster than SD and much more versatile.

Lots of people talking about CEX warranty like it's comparable to John Lewis and sounds like they are taking it at face value. I've had nothing but problems with it. 2 graphics cards they asked me to go to the manufacturer and wouldn't exchange, return or even look at it. Why I asked above about apple care. (edited)
    Steeljedi's avatar

This seems to be possibly a local store issue, I have never had an issue with returns at my local store or online. Maybe try a different store or just do an online return(this is free, just message them in support)? Hope this helps

  27. Professor_Chaos's avatar

Ordered. I was looking at the Costco £570 deal for an iPad Air or £750 for a iPad Pro 5th Gen wifi via CEX but at this price brand new and apple care you can’t argue .

needed one for portable media and note taking anyway

question: surely most people tether with their phones rather than use a seperate sim ? Unless you get cheap Lebara deal lol (edited)
    ravmania's avatar
    ravmania
I've never considered a cellular iPad before due to cost. I don't generally need to tether anyway as I just use my phone but I'm going to have a look to see if i can get some sort of cheap data SIM.

Can anyone recommend a decent keyboard case for this? Don’t want to spend stupid money on an apple magic one .
Wanted to order the Logitech one but none in stock at my local Currys as I wanted to see and use it first before ordering
