The S20 FE for £140 is a decent phone and also makes a nice portable gaming and emulation machine to plug into a TV or montior. If possible try and get the Qualcomm Snapdragon chip rather than the Exynos. Here's what it can do:

You can also make a decent handheld too.

Obviously you can buy better phones but for this kind of money it's hard to beat. (edited)

I’m looking at getting the s20 ultra for a spare phone and as a main camera phone. Would you consider this a good option

???- you mean 'free' except for the heavy discount they gave the new phone buyer (in other words, NOT free)? And what exactly is wrong in recycling working electronics to users whose use case may perfectly match these older phones?

The build quality of once very expensive devices can be brilliant- likewise the camera, and even the processor/memory subsystem for specific new uses. Cheap trash electronics is often worthless and broken long before the warrantee is up. Older gear that sold at a premium is the opposite form of engineering.

Was that fair condition? The 70% battery health puts me off a bit but I struggle to see how the battery would degrade that quickly anyway. Hope it works out for you! And please let us know how it goes

Got my £30 quid 6s this morning.  Some marks on the back of the case but that’s about it. Screen is in good condition though.

Might see if I can jailbreak it and tweak it to be a bit more usable for an older person.

Went for a 128gb 6S @ 65 quid. I've been looking for an ipod touch 6 or 7th gen from places like CEX (for example 7th gen £180 quid plus almost certainly the cost of a battery replacement on top - that's why they end up in 2nd shops etc). I did have an old SE that I traded in ages ago, & wish I'd kept it now to make it to a music player. So for the cost of that @ £65 and maybe a battery replacement for about £40 from a place I trust, then it's a no brainer for me.

My old touch 5th gen is dying with in half hour use, and a battery replacement for that is impossible to get/for me to do, plus it's tiny storage wise.. I'll either make the SE 2020 into the music player (but it's only 32 gb or summit & I use an external battery pack on it, as it's not quite at a replaceable level just yet) and use the 6s for a phone, or keep the 2020 as phone, and use the 6s for the music player. Still saving me money vs getting a touch, a good chunk of savings. (edited)

is there a definition given by the seller for fair, good, excellent and pristine and is it worth paying a little more? Im currently stuck between fair, good and excellent for a Samsung s10, any tips?

Answer to your first question is on the FAQ page:

"How do you grade your phones and tablets?
We do a full diagnostic and visual check on all of our phones and tablets. Each one is tested individually and is allocated a grade based on its physical appearance alone. The grades are explained below:

New Boxed – A boxed ‘as new’ product that comes in its original packaging. Will show no signs of use and be in perfect working condition.

Refurbished As New Condition – A premium product which is ‘like new’ for the fraction of the price, this product will have no signs of use and be packaged in our Envirofone Box.
Refurbished Pristine Condition – A premium product which has light signs of use and is in excellent working order.

Refurbished Excellent Condition – An excellent condition product that has isolated wear and tear to the front, back or sides. This product is fully functional.

Refurbished Good Condition – An average condition product that has signs of use. This will have wear and tear to the front, back or sides. This product is fully functional.

All of our products have been tested by a gadget specialist and quality checked before being dispatched."

Ok, so I have finally gone back to iPhone. Bought the 6+ back in the day got rid of it in 2019 when switchy posted the o2 S10 deal.

Bought the iPhone 13 pro max excellent condition 256gb sierra blue. Its the colour I wanted. I hope the extra £50 is worth it with no scratches nor dent, so I can possibly trade it back to iPhone and get the newer one.

Is there a 30 days return for the item? Cause I'm thinking Easter might have better sales.

Does the phone come with a charging cable or do i need to buy 1? (edited)

If buying the S20 FE in the UK, the 5G version is the Snapdragon. The 4G one is Exynos.

Wondering if the battery on this 6s is knackered.  Would only charge to 80% yesterday after around 5 hours and it’s lost just over 60% in less than 24 hours while being in airplane mode.

The battery health is 89% as it is, but I’d expect something a little better even with that rating.

Is there a way to tell if the battery’s genuine? Maybe using a diagnostic tool on a PC
  33. Conkers816's avatar

There are some replacement battery kits available for around £20 quid so it's not a complete disaster I suppose.

Been looking to upgrade my Note 9 to the Note 20 Ultra. Decided to bite the bullet and I get sent one in "good" condition with dead pixels down the sides of the screen. Sending it back for replacement, if they send another back with dead pixels then I'll just refund.

Is it possible to return an item for free where I don’t agree with the grade I purchased against what has arrived?

bought an “excellent” grade phone which has paint missing/scratches on 2 corners and a scratch you can see and feel on the screen

not my definition of excellent but I’ve got to pay to return it?

Here's what it says on their FAQ:

"Refurbished Excellent Condition – An excellent condition product that has isolated wear and tear to the front, back or sides. This product is fully functional."

Personally, I agree with you. I'd consider "excellent" to be minimal scratches and definitely nothing on the screen itself. However, it looks like their definition is broad enough that they didn't miss-sell the product. Worth a shot to see if they'd pay for the return, but I think they'd argue the above

Rather bizarrely, this 6s has hung on at 1% battery for nearly 2 days now.

It lost around 65% in the first 12 hours after I took it off charge and most of the rest of the charge in the following hours but it's still at 1% days later. Obviously I'm not touching it and it's still in airplane mode but i'd have thought the battery would have given up the ghost a while ago.
