IP66 rated is cheaper on Screwfix if you dont need delivery

Screwfix is £12.49 for BG Electrical, £9.99 for LAP. But Homebase have BG for £9.50. (edited)

Do it well, always connect it to an internal fused spur which you can switch off after use.

The Homebase socket is the same manufacturer but doesn’t have the neon. Better to pay the extra £1.50 I think. (edited)

Thanks, ordered one. With 25 year warranty, it'll outlast me for sure

I prefer the wired up one no hassle, this alone shouldn’t cost £11.00 a bit of a plastic that’s all it is they say IP66 rated but tell you to drill a hole at the bottom 🤙 how long will it stay IP66 rated. If you type in outdoor socket armoured there’s prewired ones on there for not a bad price if your looking for something more permanent without the hassle of calling out a electrician, was looking up armoured cable and came across them. Please can you provide a link to the product to which you are referring? I am in the market for an outdoor socket and I like things that are easy.

Easiest way of fitting an outdoor socket yourself I've found is to go through the back of a indoor socket on a outside facing wall just a short wire through the wall to join them together then you can extend off that anywhere you want in the garden
