    The ThermoScan 3 isn’t anywhere near as accurate as the 5 and above. If using this I would encourage you to take 3 readings in succession and rule out any erroneous readings. For example I tried and got 37.1, 38.1 and 37.3 same ear. All within seconds of each other. In that case you can assume you’re somewhere between 37.1 and 37.3. And ignore the 38 as a false reading.

    Straight after I used a ThermoScan 5 and got 37.3 3 times in a row. - The reading was consistent AND it’s the exact model that paramedics here use so would be inclined to trust it as accurate.

    Will do ok in a pinch but is not reliable or consistent. I payed around £35-40 as we were desperate to get something quickly. It throws out a different reading every time within seconds and they vary massively. For £12 it’s good for an approximate reading, I guess.
