It was mainly the movement for me - in MW, the movement was fluid and it felt like you were controlling a human that was actually running, sliding, climbing on obstacles etc. Once you had some hours into MW it became very easy to get decent at it and learn to move around properly.
But CW just felt odd - the running mechanism felt like you were controlling somebody running on tip toes, and the mantle and slide mechanics were all wrong. The running always reminded me of Spy Vs Spy from the 80s!!
The gunplay wasn't that accurate either, guns seem to just spray everywhere with too much recoil.
I still play MW now, but CW hasn't been touched for ages now. I did have some good games on it, but it just never felt quite right compared to MW. From the UI to the perks, etc.
Vanguard felt much better, and more like MW than CW so I'll probably buy that. (edited)

the CW engine is rubbish, even Activision themselves don't like it and tweeted that they wouldn't be using this going forward. I played the demo a few times to give it a chance and the movement is just awful, definitely not like the other COD titles that I'm used to. The best blackops games were 1 & 2

No it doesn't, and unless its changed you can't upgrade to the Series X version if you own the Xbox One disc. For Xbox you have to either buy the Series X disc or the Cross Gen digital Bundle.

Decent price. Actually really enjoyed the campaign - great story and decent missions. Multiplayer was a rabbit hole, ended up ploughing hours into it!- This will be worth pennies in a few days time.
There's so much to this for £20 now that all the seasons are out. Campaign, fireteam mp, classic 6v6, outbreak zombies, classic zombies etc. Really liked this one because treyarch did a great job at retaining some of that original Black Ops feel but modernising it. IW did a great job rebooting Modern Warfare but, I personally wanted it to feel a bit more like the original.

Seems like a great price for this. Played it for a bit, thought all the modes were alright, but ultimately found myself still playing Warzone so decided to sell it.

Agree, I thought that the campaign had an almost Goldeneye feel, though that may have just been the general era. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also really enjoyed the fire team game mode in multiplayer but not sure if that's still being played on a big way. Well worth the £20 👌- If you liked MW19, don’t get your hopes up on this. It’s not a patch on that game.
Not terrible, some good maps and gameplay but ultimately disappointing compared to MW. - Fab, Xmas present for my 2 year old sorted

Is it just me who really liked Cold War? I never really enjoyed MW19 that much: guns have always felt unbalanced and the maps never seemed well designed for objective play (but in terms of design of the game itself; it is beautiful).

Zombies is more of an upgraded version of Black Ops 3 with a lot more things added than it was on Black Ops 4 (in my opinion, as a major disappointment). They've added a lot of new stuff into CW Zombies and have made the game more balanced with the new additions.
The one thing to note is that you play as the characters in multiplayer, so everything your characters say are just nonsequential one-liners. There is a story but just not for the character you play as. (edited)
If this was £20 a couple months ago I may have bit, but with Vanguard on the way, seems silly to not put the 20 quid into that. Still, heat for the price

- Good price but a mediocre game. I'd only buy it if you need to grind weapons for Warzone. Some double XP tokens on Nuketown and you're all set.

But to be honest, I’ve played both versions on The Series X and you’d be hard pushed to see the difference as the Xbox One version is already enhanced for the One X. And the Ray Tracing is only on shadows in Cold War.
