sorted byAt least it will smell nice?
Have done the same here. Great shame.
So had to console meself instead with an Easter egg out my boot, so that's another I need to replace ..... it just doesn't work trying to keep them hidden in my boot, I swear they telepathically call me to eat them!
It's not free until the capital costs of the solar installation are paid off.
At my place, with the previous electricity rates, it would have taken 26 years to pay off the capital costs.
Naturally, that will have been reduced, severely, with the current pricing levels but would still likely take about 9 years or so.
Not with solar panels it won’t be. So may suit some and worth posting.
I wondered what people were paying to run these things.
My mates father in law bought one last year and had a nice shed construed to put it in as well.
I'd asked a few times what the costs were but never got an answer.
My electricity bills have gone from around £30 a month, to £90, since November last year.
I use oil Central heating, so electricity use was pretty minimal.
Even with the ridiculous increase in oil prices (46p now at £1.20 per litre), it's still cheaper than electricity.
Coincidentally, I was discussing the hot tub topic and the likelihood of many being sold off, I wonder if the same thing will happen to motor homes and campers?
If they're only using them a few times a year, I'm not convinced they are saving much money.
Cars probably get at least twice the mpg that a camper van does.
Why would you not be aware that camper vans are not particularly fuel efficient and have higher rates of VED, unless classed as historic vehicles.
My old VW camper was lucky to get 20mpg out of its asthmatic air cooled engine.
Then there's the site fees etc. (edited)
It's still 25 years, they haven't upped their buy back rates (edited)
If you had 5 hours of daylight per day and had 8 panels, your calculation would be, 335 x 5 x 8 = 13,400w or 13.4kW. (1 kW is 1000 w).
To find out how many hours of sunlight per day you get, you can use a website like this one Sun hours that provides an average of daylight hours per month. Remember, this is Britain, so daylight hours and actual sunlight can vary!
Buy 1 get 2 free! 😃
Think I will leave it in the box and carry on paying £35 a month for my Gym with a huge Hydrotherapy pool (edited)
Brought the house with them installed .. so no off set ...
that's cheap!
Increase = incensed
You would need a pretty big roof to generate enough electric to heat up this much water.
Why motor homes and campers? Oil, diesel, electric...? (edited)
£350 with solar panels unless you have battery storage
Have you seen the increased price of fuel these days?
Prob cheapest way to run if u have solar ...
My dad's partners hers is free from 8am till 6pm.. so she does most electric from fhat time. Car charging drying etc etc
Yes, but why campervans specifically? Why not cars?
People tend to only use campervans a few times a year, and save loads of money by not paying for a hotel or BnB.
I'm not saying they're cheap to run, but going on holiday is never cheap, and campervans give you more cheap options (particularly for those that can't/don't want to fly).
I assume all forms of transport will suffer the same price increases.
What about LPG and electric campervans? Are they as inefficient?
I think it's much more likely that the inefficient cars will be the ones that will feel the drop in demand. I hope so, anyway.
Same
May suit some with a big roof then.
It varies but there you go, more acceptable running costs. (edited)
But if you run a Tesla as I do and want a hot tub etc. and also have solar storage the case is much better.
I agree but I'd still be wondering at what point in time you actually save money?
How much would that setup cost?
We were the same. Loved ours but decided not to replace it. We now have an overnight stay away once a month instead.
