I did fail the bugger as it was the toughest exam I’ve done more than some CCNP exams. It’s all tangible real world stuff, you have a VM of RHEL you have to fix it. Ie break into it to it and reset root password. If you can’t do that bit you can’t proceed to do the rest of the tasks. Really clever and real world no chance of cheating.
You get the results in 24 odd hours when the VM is loaded by the test marker. I decided to go back and do the exam again 3 odd months later after trying to study with a young family and was happy to pass (500 quid is a bit of pressure!)
Don’t think I have the time or skill to tackle the RHCE but it’s really helped me on my cloud cert journey with AWS / azure. Linux is everywhere.
Shame Centos is dying out as a stable free enterprise OS but I hope IBM keep looking after RHEL (edited)
No such thing as a stupid question - yep, once you get it its yours forever!
Definitely still free as I've just signed up. As mentioned in the previous comment, just apply the code manually at checkout. Good luck !!
Worked for me, you have to manually apply the discount code.
Thank you, thank you, thank you - you've just saved my bacon and that of two of mates, as they were looking to sign up but they weren't sure if they'd be able to fully complete due to work & life commitments.
Take a look at Rocky Linux or AlmaLinux, both are forks of CentOS. Personally, experience with Rocky is smooth so far.
From what I'm seeing from other posts it appears the associated discount code has a limited number of uses before it's no longer available to use - I've seen this from yesterday's post of other Udemy Courses, as I could only get a couple off of that list that I could sign up to.
Using AlmaLinux as a replacement for Centos 8 Nginx reverse proxy servers. Works well. I prefer RHEL to Debian for hosting, but I’m using Ubuntu more since Centos went down stream (or whatever it’s called).
