    From techradar:
Here’s how the Crucial X6 2TB portable SSD performed in our suite of benchmark tests:

    CrystalDiskMark: 464MBps (read); 432MBps (write)

    Atto: 443MBps (read, 256mb); 429MBps (write, 256mb)

AS SSD: 435MBps (seq read); 375MBps (seq write)

    AJA: 430MBps (read); 410MBps (write)

Think they tested the old version there as they state ‘crucial reports speeds up to 540MBps’ which is what I bought a couple of years ago. Since then the drives have been updated to up to 800MBps with speeds more in line with that. There was some confusion around this regarding being slow to update packaging to reflect this. However more recent benchmarks puts it closer to that 800 figure. This link has crucials statement on that matter techadvisor.com/art…tml

Is it worth the additional cost for Sorage/Backup over a regular HDD?

Short answer, no. Long answer, it depends.
For mere backup/storage (as you say) nothing beats a good old HDD for £/gb.
However, one place where it does fall down is if you are using it for photo storage and routinely access those photos - it’s a very slow process. I use an HDD for my back catalogue of RAW photos and occasionally I’ll have to dig into it to find some photos and it is a pain.
But as I said, if it’s just backup to sit in a drawer then HDD all day long.

I’m still waiting for my last order which is currently ‘out of stock’.

Don’t know how they keep selling these without fulfilling previous orders

Same here. Paid £114.79 but that included the USb A to C convertor. Ordered 11 days ago and still not arrived. If I was buying agin I'd get it from Amazon with free next day Prime delivery for the few quid extra at £110.14. amazon.co.uk/dp/…h=1 (edited)
