300 peak amps you will be lucky if it starts a wristwatch, I made a mistake about 3 years ago when I didn't know about these devices I bought a 15000 mAh jump pack with 600 peak amps and it would not start my car which is a 2.0 Hyundai i30n, I then tried it on a 1.0 litre Ford Fiesta and all it did was make the starter click. I now have a TopDon JS 2000 which has a 16000 mAh battery with 2000 peak amps it starts my car with a totally flat battery and I helped a woman with a flat battery on her 4.4 litre Range Rover diesel and it started it without a problem which really surprised me. It's the peak amps you need to crank an engine over fast enough to start a car with a flat battery as well as one with a decent capacity. You can get the TopDon JS 2000 on offer from time to time for £90 on Amazon it's currently on Ebay for £70.49. (edited)

They're only meant for assisting a weak battery not a completely flat battery.
I have a Halfords one that is about 300 amps and it's started a few vehicles just fine.

Be careful with these... if they are not from a reputable company they can do more harm than good. There are a lot of safety standards etc that these have to conform to aswell as additional safety features. This is being streetwise product should be ok. Also its usually the ones at this price that are the dodgy ones. I personally spent a bit more on a Ring one which I know should be reliable. (edited)

does it come with the free Doorbell?

Don't bother with these low amp ones if you need to jump start cars on regular basis, this might be ok for a small petrol but won't even crank a cold diesel engine with flat battery. I know because I bought the Lidl one which is similar spec and it was no good. Also tried Noco sport which is also weak for a diesel. We now have a Trekpow 2500, which was a lot more expensive (£90 I think)but it even starts a 3.0 diesel engine with a dead battery and still going strong after a couple of years of regular use. If you only have a 1l petrol or an electric car there is no point getting one that can start a 3l diesel.

anything for a 3 litre petrol?

Quick google brings up this for 3L diesel and 6L petrol. Haven't investigated the authenticity of the product/website!

Lifesaver, cars should come with these as standard these days. Probably would save a lot of roadside assistance callouts. So easy to use, got me out of a few dead battery moments and most can also be used as a power bank too.

People can't be bothered to check their spare tyres or change bulbs, very unlikely they would charge this every so often.

Amazing that something this physical size can actually jump start a car.

Very impressive how technology has moved on from the days when you had to be a weightlifter to carry a car jump starter power pack.

Wow that’s cheap imo if I didn’t pay over 3 times for mine I’d bite.. HEATED

They were around the 30-35 mark for ages pre-pandemic, got a few then. Nice to see them returning to sensible prices again!
Only need to pay 2-3 times more than this if its the NOCO ones really - Well, at this spec anyway, obviously a bigger engined diesel etc will want more juice. (edited)

Got an old one that has proven useless starting a completely dead battery. You need something with much higher peak amps. See Sprograt's post above.

But I keep it around - when car batteries are completely flat electric doors can be locked/unlocked and electric windows/sunroof can be opened/closed which could be a problem when it rains. Your key will always be able to manually open the driver's door, then you can pop open the hood and connect this rechargeable battery.

Thanks, ordered. Happy to be corrected if I'm a talking nonsense but...

Pretty sure cold can badly affect these, so if keeping in your car might be worth keeping it insulated somehow

Definitely can also recommend ensuring this is suitable/powerful enough for your particular car.

Wasn’t this particular brand or make but I had to borrow a similar kit from a friend over winter and it also wasn’t effective at jump starting a Mercedes c180.

Just go to a breakers and get a battery that fits your car for £15 to £20. Keep it charged regularly.
Previously I bought a power bank via Ali Express, which when you receive it, unless your battery is flat you can't try it out. When I needed it in an emergency, it was not powerful enough.
Also small ones are liable to be stolen if left in your car. While a breakers battery, won't be! 😃

Shame it's out of stock. Wanted one for the bikers group i ride with. This has enough juice to jump a bike for sure

Looks like it’s only for small engined card, I can’t even think of a diesel with less than a 1.6 engine.

I have used something similar to successfully start a 3.0l engine vehicle. Just need to leave it connected for 10 or 15 minutes before cranking a larger engine if the battery is quite low.

The only time the pack has given me issue is lately after about 5 years - when it was really cold recently when it was stored in the car. I put it on the charger for 5 minutes, to warm it up. Worked fine after that.

Over the last five years it has never failed to start a vehicle, including family, friends, work colleagues. (edited)

Most non starts are due to low-charge state of battery
Drivers use all electric toys and crawl in traffic and don't realise battery not fully charged until . . .
Take battery off/disconnect and charge up overnight - will get most people by for a month or 3.
I got a Battery Alternator Tester 12V LED Aldi in past easy to check ~ £6
A capacity tester is under £15
    And a 096 4yr g'tee battery ~ new delivered £80

At the time of posting there were over 124 in stock (according to their site), so they went pretty quick. I have dealt with CPC Farnells for over 35 years in my role as a professional electronics engineer and as a private individual. I have never had any bad products from them, they have there own buyers (not the usual drop-ship tat from China), never knowly selling sub-standard products, hence why I trust them.
