Marillion, possibly the greatest band ever!

Ask Alexa "who is the lead singer of Marillion" and she'll tell you "Fish", despite Fish leaving circa 1988 to be replaced by the infinitely better Steve Hogarth.

    Awesome band.

The ultimate music genre. If you can appreciate it you can look down on all other genres with a feeling of superiority.

I agree about Marillion but wonder if, with hindsight, they should have changed their name when Fish left (even if to Marillion pt 2) because I view them as completely different bands.

Yeah, possibly so, I don't mind though...

Agree completely on the 2 different bands observation. I rarely venture back to the Fish material but if it comes on my Spotify playlist I won't necessarily skip it.

Could never get into Marillion with Hogarth in as he reminded too much of Feargal Sharkey from the Undertones. But I have followed Fish over the years and seen him a few times.

    He's calling it a day, isn't he?

Just released his final album and is unlikely to your with it now (due to covid).

Get the Sharkey thing out of your head and give it another go. You're missing some stellar music.

    My missus hates them.
It tends to be a common theme with wives apparently.

My mate always said that the problem with progressive music, was that it didn't actually progress
