Funny how some thought that this outperformed the 3090 until games like forspoken and tlou showed that 16GB is the new minimum vram limit for 1440p and 4K gaming with reasonable performance

Just because console ports are releasing on PC with poor optimisation does not mean 16gb is the new minimum . This card will run any game at 1440p Ultra, as for 4K some titles will even tax the 4090.

I don't know why anyone would bother to post a graphics card deal on this site. Such a thankless task only resulting in an endless stream of sarcastic/angry/passive aggressive comments in response. I always read them in the style of the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons.

This is a site for good deals. The GPU market is such right now that almost everything outside of AMD GPU's *are* simply bad deals and people are correctly and validly pointing that out. But hey, if you bought yourself a 40 series card, fine, just stop trying to suppress not just worthwhile, but absolutely *needed* messaging here. Again, this isn't just nerds being over the top, this is genuinely, with no hyperbole, an existential fight over the whole future of the GPU market. Charging £800 for midrange parts is just beyond extreme and beyond what we should find tolerable as consumers.

Currently running a 5700XT - contemplating an upgrade and this would be such a jump from the amd Gpu…

If you've waited this long you might as well wait for the new "mid-range" cards to drop, see how prices shift, and look to get some better value.

There might be some better prices on EOL cards like the 6800/XT in the coming months which are 60-80% faster than your current card. If you can find one for around £400 then you'll have paid no more than you did for the 5700XT but will have bagged a significant performance uplift for your money.

A 4070Ti is about 220% the performance of your card but 200% the RRP.

Have some heat for the 37p discount off the RRP

A sub 300mm² GPU with a 192-bit bus and 12GB of GDDR6 - that's exactly what the 3060 was. This is literally just a bog standard midrange part. And now it's being sold for £800(!) just two years later.

Beyond insanity. Nobody should be buying any of these. Those who do are just helping ruin the GPU market forever. (edited)

No. Those which ruined the gpu market were those who bought gpus off scalpers during 2021/2022 peak.

People buying these cards now are doing so because they weren't the selfish ones who did this - in fact they are the victims, who in many cases haven't bought gpus since the 1000 or 900 series (edited)

It’s the new norm, just get use to it.

Example, the first UK Civic Type R model started at £16-£17k RRP…. Now the latest model is at £47k!

So I would say this is a good price for an AIB model.

"It's the new new norm, get used to it".

I cant overstate how incredibly infuriating this is. This does NOT have to be the new norm. These prices aren't some necessity for Nvidia. Far from it. They are simply trying to see what extremes they can get away with, so they can set these prices and practices going forward forever.

What is wrong with some of you? Who is upvoting this?

I was planning to get one of these for my first build but now I'm leaning towards the 7900 XT.

Would be choice too if i didn't have Quest Pro, AMD cards are useless with VR, especially wireless.

And to think this card was supposed to be a 4080...
