sorted byThe knives and the block are very well made, the block actually does a decent job of keeping the edge honed.
Just don't put any pressure on the knives when pulling them from the block, the weight of the knives is enough to get them nice and sharp (too much pressure can also damage the honing wheel mechanism).
Run them through two or three times and you should be good to go.
If you do get quite a dull edge, it's best to keep a steel handy rather than trying to get it back using the blocks wheels.

Oh, and if you're not used to knives without a full bolster, watch your fingers at the handle edge of the blade, lol. (edited)
