I'm going to be honest... I'm not entirely sure what it is. All I know is baby is due in a few weeks, it's on 'the list' and it's gone down a fiver since I last looked!

    Haha

I would recommend a video monitor, with independant screen. This seems nice with the night light and all but you won't be able to use your phone for phone stuff!

FYI I got my monitor from facebook marketplace for a bargain, it had never been used. Worth keeping your eyes peeled for bits and bobs other parents don't need there. (edited)

Take me back to the radio based monitors of the 90s that had 4 channels. Then you realise it's not your baby you are listening to, it's one of your neighbours lol

I had one of the early cordless telephones , used the same frequency as baby monitors. Could often hear the neighbours baby monitors over your call

If this connects to the telescope, you'll be able to monitor your bebbe in the next galaxy over. Bargain

I always thought these types of camera were good but you need to keep your phone active which doesn't make sense at night time. Better to get an independent screen.

Isn't this just for audio only?

How can it be called a 'baby monitor' without a thermometer/temperature sensor?

Quite bad Amazon reviews too saying even the audio monitoring is poor.

You don't need video but you do need long range in a baby monitor - WiFi probably won't cut it. I have a basic BT audio only monitor, which is great because (a) it covers the whole house despite having thick walls, (b) the mic is sensitive enough to hear even the faintest breathing when my kid is asleep, and (c) the battery lasts for hours

Agreed just a normal baby monitor is best, no need for any fancy app.
Can't remember which one we had, but it worked great and didn't cost too much.

Not finding a lot of reviews outside of Amazon at the moment!

Amazon Warehouse has a few of these for half the price, FWIW. amazon.co.uk/gp/…BOX

BT monitors are ace. I would suggest not relying on your phone. It sounds convenient but it's actually not. You want a dedicated service at least for audio. Then fine, maybe a camera you can flick open on your phone if you need to check.. how I did it

Got mine on eBay for £10 and the battery lasts forever.. temperature important.. a cold baby is gonna wake up and cry.. and poop.. Usually!
