    It's VA tech, so the refresh can't do 60Hz, let alone 165Hz. I'm talking about the ability of the LCD shutters to switch state- the ONLY metric that matters. The con is that the 165Hz refers to the driving transistors, but the pixel connected to the transistor switches at the speed of a dead snail- that's just a fact of physics.

    VA have good contrast (better blacks) but poor colour accuracy. They are fine for TV/Film at around 30Hz. That is what the tech was invented for, not gaming.
