    Shhhh don't tell everyone !!
I've made more or less a full kitchen out of these apparently "scrap" pieces of wood

They've been doing this for years. I'm amazed it has never been posted before but good on you.

I guess it’s one way of getting rid of their returns

They have the same in Birmingham, far end of the car park is a shelter like for trolleys etc that just has stacks in and says to help yourself

The place where the wood was kept, was full of trollies again, when I went last month. Hopefully that was just temporary because I've had several bits of wood from there

Does anyone know if this is available in the Croydon store?

I'd guess this is a very difficult deal to take advantage off as Ikea are experts at designing furtinture using the least amount of wood posible!

Make sure you get there early if you want morning wood.

Next time I'm at IKEA I'll take a look. B&Q does it too.
Pretty sure I'll just get a glare from the wife though

Awesome, materials are expensive enough in the UK

Always empty for the past couple of years at the Sheffield one. I've noticed that things that would previously go into the free wood bin are now being sold in the "bargain corner", including individual side panels off a solid pine bookshelf i.e. stuff that is only useful as wood not parts.

That's my local store so it'll be my fault why it's always empty

    Typical it's after bonfire night.

If anyone's near Thurrock, they usually have loose damaged pieces available for free in their car park. Also Howdens round the corner too.

This is a great way to save during the col problem just collect the free wood, make a stone circle in the front room and heating problem fixed and that's the governments plan for helping family's next year lololol

I'm not sure burning MDF is a great idea, whilst even natural wood adds some particles and other pollutants into the air, MDF is made with formaldehyde which is a known carcinogen.

Best to get it in the morning
