Anyone know if this is any good or how it stacks up against other budget indoor security cameras? (reolink, tapo, etc)

I haven't heard of this brand

I have a number of these and they are very good value for money. They are made by a Chinese CCTV manufacturer called Dahua. Their cameras are also white labelled by other companies such as Yale.

Have several of their cameras all good for the price, obviously not as good as say Nest but worth the money. Have just bought one of their NVR recorders to go with them.

A handy tip, these cameras are full compatible and configurable with the Dahua Config Tool found here:

    dahuawiki.com/Con…ool

This tool is usually used for configuring Dahua commercial IP cameras but it works with Imou cameras just the same. It will give you access to a whole host of settings which are not included in the app including the ability to remove the intrusive Imou logo from video feeds if you're running anything older than the most recent firmware update which sadly locks the logo in place. This tool is also necessary if you plan on using these camera's with an older NVR that does not support the H.265 codec. The camera works works with both H.265 & H.264 but you cannot change these in the App, only the config tool above.

Onvif compatible, so easy to access locally?

Probably not. I had one similar and it wasn't, so sent it back and got a tapo instead.
However the build quality and the image was certainly superior.

What cloud storage/backup can be used with these?

You can use Imou cloud. I don't know if that is a good idea or not as I just use SDXC cards in mine.

spent half a day trying to get this to connect to wifi network. Did everything - reset it a number of times, but would not connect.

You have to connect it to an old school 2.4GHz wifi network.
