Great price for a 10 core CPU. Comes with a basic cooler.

Say hello to Raptor-Lake. Intel's incredible 13th generation processors are here to break the boundaries of modern day processing power. Now with up to 10 cores (6 Performance-cores and 4 Efficient-cores) and up to 16 threads, plus Performance-cores are capable of reaching 4.6 GHz with Intel® Thermal Velocity Boost to elevate performance. Intel® Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 further strengthens lightly threaded performance by identifying the best-performing Performance-cores. Meanwhile, additional E-cores enable an increase in Intel® Smart Cache (L3) for more efficient processing of larger data sets and better performance. The P-core and E-core L2 cache has also increased compared to the previous generation of Intel® processors, minimising the amount of time spent swapping data between cache and memory to speed up your workflow. Unleash the power of next-level performance with the 13th Gen Intel® Core™ desktop processor.

That's one seriously awful price for a 6-core CPU. The e-cores are a gimmick, for benchmark mode. They lack many of the processing features of the proper cores, which is why games like 'The Last of Us' are performing so badly (and crashing) on Intel/Nvidia gaming solutions. Older games that limit themselves to 6-cores shouldn't show this issue- Intel's pal Microsoft, has hard-coded the Windows kernel to only use the P-cores in gaming if the game doesn't demand more cores than the CPU has P-cores (and this is an issue- Microsoft refuses to properly do the same for AMD's 7950x3d leaving game threads on the non-vcache cores by 'accident').

The 6-core AMD part (5600) is around 110 quid, allowing the saving to be put toward a better GPU, leading to much faster gaming on an all AMD system (at the same budget).

E cores are not a gimmick. My 13600K idles at 2.5 W. I can also run video rendering, and when I minimise the app it jumps onto the e cores automatically, and leaves all 6 p cores completely free; I can't even tell there is heavy CPU going on in the background. Moreover the 8 e cores run the rendering at almost the same speed as 6 p cores but with 10 W less power usage. If gaming, the 13600K which can be overclocked to 5.6 GHz easily, offers more bang per buck that any 7000 series CPU. (edited)
