I paid £300 a few months ago and grabbed a motherboard deal to move onto AM4 and keep my existing RAM, etc.

A few tips for any buyers:

    * make sure your CPU cooler is a heavy weight
    * don't overthink temps until you have updated everything, including your BIOS.
    * get PBO2 tuner. It'll allow you to down clock your CPU via easy software and give better temps and boosts.

This is a juggernaut of a CPU.

    Enjoy lucky buyers! (edited)

Pbo2 tuning for 5800x3d should be in most decent brand BIOS these days, no need for the separate pbo2 tuner software any longer thankfully. Worth a check.

Mine runs even cooler than my 5800x, granted it has lower clocks. Both great cpus.

Idle drain is a bit high though only negative I can find. (edited)
