I paid 144 from Amazon warehouse for this recently for use with a spare firestick and projector.

Nightmare if connecting via bluetooth to different devices. Easy if it's a wired connection

Ive used a few all in one soundbars and a few 2.1 bars. This is probably the best even compared to a sonos beam 1st gen. It sounds like i have a subwoofer hidden somewhere, all the other network features are pretty amazing too.
The worst bar was probably the LG SN7CY. Atmos on or off made no difference on the LG and the bass ports did virtually nothing. The sony ht x8500 is pretty decent and has nice rounded bass and sounds smooth with atmos on. The multibeam sounds more bassy and probably better for music than the others. The sonos beam has better dialogue and more upper range.

Overall this jbl multibeam is good value for under £200. (edited)

None of the bars give you an immersive feeling, in the end of the day a rubbish 5.1 will still be better than a 2.1/3.1/2.0/5.0 etc. however if you dont have space/budget or just want convenience then bars are the way to go. I have just gone for the sonos arc, sub and ones to see if it will replace my aging old sony 7.2. Hopefully Very doesnt mess up my order.

I think what you're looking for is 7.1 minimum as you wont be quite happy with a soundbar. For most people 2.1 is adequate.

Got this at £199, has been excellent. No issues whatsoever connecting multiple devices with Bluetooth.

I’ve got this soundbar and absolutely love it! I brought this a while back based on Which! Reviews , it was the 2nd best soundbar they tested! Highly recommend!

I've had one of these for a while and it's really good. Adds decent depth the the sound and is clear for voice etc. Heat

I also got this on the Amazon deal, love it. Brilliant especially if space is at a premium. Finding a bar under 90cm with decent features is very difficult. Don’t expect surround sound, but with 4K atmos rips it sounds really good.

Bought this for £179 in January. Very happy with it. A great sounding soundbar without the need of a massive subwoofer!

Is the Polk Magnifi2 not a better buy at the moment? Reduced from £499 & can now be bought for £189 ( using the £10 VIP reduction when you join)?

I bought this from Amazon warehouse for 144, returned it last 2 weeks and got this:
    Polk Audio MagniFi 2

What I've realized is that Dolby Atmos is useless on cheap soundbars. A subwoofer is also important on cheap soundbars.

My understanding was that Atmos doesn’t  equal better speakers . Rather an input signal with atmos metadata (Disney + , certain Netflix shows ) will tell the speakers what to do.
hence , my Hisense tv with a built in 2.1.2 soundbar played stranger things season 4 perfectly , whilst I saw other viewers complaining the ambient sound drowned out the dialogue
